We have also included dual shoulder straps on the bag to allow for back-pack style hands-free carrying. And, of course, a beverage holder. I have 2 of the Zen chairs and LOVE them. I decided I would like to try ...
I have 2 of the Zen Strongback chairs and LOVE them. They open and fold very easily, they are light weight and fit very nicely into their roomy carrying bag. I purchased them about 1 1/2 years ago. I decided I would like to try the Elite, so I ordered 2 of them. I am disappointed to say the least. They are very long to carry on your back, they keep hitting in the back of our knees, they are way too heavy, so wouldn't be able to carry them very far and are extremely hard to open and fold. They also do not fit into the too small bag very easily. This takes away the point of having them. I am going to send them back. I had recommended the Strongback chair to my friend and she couldn't find the Zen so she ordered the Elite. She feels the same as I do about them being too long, too heavy, very hard to open and fold up and not a big enough carrying bag. I would also like to add that the quality of my Zen Strongback chairs are very good and the quality of the construction of this Elite is very poor. Sorry to see that the Strongback chair seems to be heading down hill.

... me begin by saying that this chair is very comfortable.. for however long it may hold together
Let me begin by saying that this chair is very comfortable.. for however long it may hold together. I have chronic back issues with bulging discs at L4 & L5. This seat offered far more support than a standard "bag chair". Unfortunately, I was only able to get seven weekends worth of wear out of it before it began to fall apart to the point of being unusable.I purchased it for use at my son's Lacrosse tourney's, which meant it was getting used for approximately 6-7 one hour games over the course of a weekend. The chair lasted 5 tourneys from the time that I purchased it last year until I had to replace the first popped rivet in a leg support brace. I then had to replace a second rivet midway through the next tourney. Today, I had another rivet give out, causing a support arm to snap... End of road, cannot be fixed. This final failure rending the chair useless comes 5 days BEFORE having it for a solid year. I purchased it from 7/17/2014, it arrived around 7/7/28/14. The Amazon online seller has a 30 day returns policy , with no mention of provision for warranty. The Manufacturers direct website states that they do have a year long warranty... As long as you purchased directly from THEIR e-commerce website, NOT Amazon resellers, or others...I do not have much confidence that neither retailer, nor manufacturer is going to be assume any accountability.Again, I really liked the feel of this chair initially, but if you are looking for a durable piece of equipment, this chair is NOT for you. If you happen to be OK with the idea of a short term, disposable seating solution - this is the one.I, quite frankly, expected more for the price.

laid back and stylin'
I'm sitting in my new Strongback chair right now and I'm really glad I made this purchase. The low back support is great and keeps my chin off my knees. the chair is sturdy. it just traveled from Memphis to NYC as checked luggage without a scratch. The ground is fairly wet under the chair but I haven' sunk. The cup holder hangs at a odd angle but my drink isnt going to tip out. The seat is firmer than I would like but is part of the back support. It would be nice if the straps on the carrying bag were adjustable but I like that there are pads on the straps. It's heavier than other chairs and isnt a problem for short distances. Overall, a great purchase.

Strongback Elite
After reading several favorable reviews I purchased the strong back chair. It is very comfortable and seems to support the back as advertised. The canvas parts of the chair seem well enough constructed. The steel legs and arms are held together with what appears to be flimsy rivets of pins. I am not thrilled about the plastic joints and cups for the feet and arms. They appear to be a vulnerable point for failure. Summary I like the chair. It is very comfortable and seems stable enough. I am 6' 5" and weight 250 pounds. I want the chair to last and only time will tell how it wears with use. The chair is expensive and I don't mind paying extra if I get comfort and quality in return. Nice chair would like to see a few quality improvements in parts and construction. I have not sat on anything else I like better. The competition costs 50% less but if you can't relax what good is saving money. So far so good. Will update!

Fat Man in a Little Chair
Bought two of these for my parents. I was very happy with the quality. I am a big guy. 6' 2" and 230 lbs. I am used to chairs kind of feeling like they don't want to hold up to my size. Especially when the cross bars on the front of most chairs kind of dig into my outer hamstring area. This chair had none of those problems. The chair was also lighter than I would have expected based on the quality and support it gives. No issues carrying it to the park to watch the kids play soccer.Highly recommend.

As good as they claim! Great for bad backs!
I bought two of these chairs for my parents as an anniversary present. They called me raving about them the day they arrived, and a month later they still regularly tell me how much they love them! Their friends have threatened to steal them so I had to send them the ordering information :)When you read they hype about this chair, you think "It's too good to be true," but it's not! My parents both have very bad backs - Dad had back surgery 20+ years ago that never fully healed correctly, and Mom has sciatica (sp?) - and they can both sit in these chairs absolutely pain free for hours at a time. I wanted to find the best camp chair for them and it appears that this would be it :)They use them indoors as often or more often even than they use them outdoors. They like the color and construction too - they are sturdy chairs and look great on their porch and in their "hobby room" (Dad ties flies and Mom paints and sews). They are a good height for doing that type of seated work at a desk as well as for relaxing outside. We are visiting them later this summer and I can't wait to try the chairs out myself!

Defective and flimsy
Chair came folded and wouldn't open. Construction looked quite flimsy for something that's supposed to hold 300 lbs so I wouldn't have risked trying to sit in it even if I could have opened it. I tried for 20 minutes and concluded it must be defective. I'm returning it to Amazon
