Going on seven winters and still working
Seven Montana winters in now and still working great. Average about 10-12 yards of salted sand per winter spreading on about 2 miles plus of steep, snow packed/icy dirt roads. Lots of shoveling. Make sure there aren’t any large rocks. Very hard to remove, but the spreader did great holding up to blockages that got the auger stuck.Too heavy for one guy, so I built a stand to slide it on and off, and for storage. Finally made a dolly for it, makes it effortless to mount to my truck, take it off, and store. There’s an opportunity for the manufacture to make one and offer it for sale.Definitely recommend a vibrator. I did get a tear in the outside shell which was probably caused by the vibrator. I welded it back together then put an exterior steel base plate on to not stress the shell again. Still, you really need a vibrator.Make sure you keep the connector protected from corrosion with di-electric grease.

Good little spreader
I would have given it 5 stars but the controller I got was bad. For a item with this kind of price tag, you'd expect some QC so these types of problems don't happen. Once I got the new controller, it worked very well and I'm glad I have it for icy times.

First Buyers product but will buy more
Works great with our 50/50 sand and salt mix. Unit has performed with no issues even after sitting outside uncovered all year. Running on 2014 F150. Would recommend vibrator if not wanting to get out of truck due to wet material. We load and pull all material to back wall of hopper with shovel and normally have no issues but have had wet (meaning water soaked sand mix) stick to hopper walls and not fall to auger. Easy install and hook up. Unit rides low and throws good spread and does not pile material on rear bumper of truck. Running on setting 1 ours will throw material past both sides of truck about a foot in consistent amounts.

Purchased my through home depot online. Worked once day I installed it. First snow came today 2 months later and it didn't work. Had power, but spreader wouldn't spin.So I found a forum about this spreader and it's a well known issue.A issue the manufacturer is well aware of. The control box and the inline fuse have a tendency to burn out so if yours doesn't work check all the fuses in line fuse and the three fuses that are inside the axle control box. You will need to change those fuses in order to get the spreader to work. Make sure you buy the vibrator also because if you do not your salt or dirt will not get thrown because it will build up / freeze and won't disperse. good luck

As expected
So far works fine. Haven't gotten a good chance to use it really other than test run. Installation was ok. Needs to be better explanation for the rear bolts that hold spreader down to the bumper itself.
