Description

This extractor can be used in small home workshops for common wood machining tasks where a higher airflow than provided by a vacuum extractor is required. The quiet running induction motor provides plenty of power to extract from many small workshop machines. The inlet diameter is 100mm(4"), the outlet into the bag is 100mm(4") and the airflow is sufficient to handle the majority of waste likely to be produced in the small home workshop. A useful feature is that it can be used either on the floor or suspended from a sturdy wall using the two hanging brackets provided. A useful grab handle and castors allow easy mobility. Hose not supplied; see extraction hose selection for further details. Please note that this is a chippings extractor and should not be expected to collect fine dust. As with all the high volume low pressure airflow machines, the inlet should not be restricted to below 75mm diameter and the bag should be emptied regularly. Spare bag provided.

Could have been so much better

Just had two separate orders from Axminster and both were delivered very promptly. The first was the AC37E dust extractor fan unit which is nice and compact, but I noticed a few things I found a bit odd.The first was a bracket bolted on to the fan housing with two 8mm bolts secured using two nuts welded inside housing which would affect the air flow to some small degree. Crazy when the bracket is not used for anything. So I removed the bracket and filled the holes with silicon. The second was the duct entry which has a rolled over entry lip, which I assume is for adding strength, but this reduces the internal diameter to only 90mm a long way from 100mm (4”) specified and thus reduces air flow cross sectional area to only 63.62cm, a long way from 81.72cm for 100mm/4” entry.Third was the fan blades which face backwards and reduce the potential airflow compared to either straight blades or forward facing blades. I assume the one horse motor does not have sufficient power for better blades or has the wrong blade been fitted? Also when I tested the power drawn by the motor it was only 420W not the 750w specified for a 1HP motor and could explain why it has very poor performance.
