Sowing: Balsam is easy to grow and the seeds can be sown directly into a well prepared bed where they are to flower after all frost danger has passed. They will do well in any well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Thin when seedlings are large enough. Or, you can sow Balsam seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last spring frost.
