Looser and smoother than stretch type
This is good for fingers to hold on gauze and dressing. There is a lot on the roll but it requires a much longer piece to cover the finger. It stretches enough to double it and holds good, but looser than the stretch tubing they used at the hospital. When you stretch it the length is taken up so it has to be cut twice as long as the other type. about 8" to cover a finger. It is slipperier so I use tape around the bottom to hold them on. Hint: I use a 1 1/2" x 6" plastic bottle (eyeglass cleaner bottle)with the big end cut off for a dispenser applicator.

Not elastic or gauze-like and very sheer, needs tape
Expands to about 1-1/2 inches. The more you expand it, the shorter it gets. More like 3/4 inch width. It is not elastic, but still very soft to the touch and pliable. Still pretty durable material, even though it is sheer, almost like a bed sheet or pillow case material. It is not a gauze-like material (which most elastic tubing is).It changes shape like an accordion; if you pull it length-ways it gets long and narrow (contracted). If you pull it sideways it gets short and wide (expanded). You can manipulate it back to it's original size.Attached photos of this product compared to a similar sized elastic and a larger elastic bandage. The instructions on the back of the box show that you cut it at least twice as long as the finger or toe, then slip it on to a finger or toe (or slip it on & cut it long), twist it in the middle at the end of the finger or toe, then secure it with tape at the base of the finger or toe.Optional metal applicator sold separately.

Super helpful tubular gauze, a lifesaver.
This product has been a game changer for me. I suffer with eczema on my fingertips and this makes bandaging my entire fingertips possible, where as with bandages and plain gauze it was difficult and hard to do by myself to get full coverage. I originally bought a smaller roll of this at my local drugstore and it came with an applicator tool. I strongly suggest getting the tool to apply this with, as it does not come with this particular package. It is a great product and a great value for the money as well.

A First Aid Kit Must!
Used in conjunction with 1" wide CoBan, excellent solution over other medical bandaging for wrapping injured fingers and toes. Following a smashed finger and orthopedic surgery, daily wraps were necessary. I treated the affected area, wrapped a thin layer of gauze in order to provide padding and absorbent material over the wound, then I slid the Tubular Gauze over and past the wounded area layering the dressing, and finally affixed the dressing with CoBan. There is a trick to using Tubular gauze. I first cut a 6" piece, slid it over my index finger, then slid it over my wounded finger. With the excess off the end, I slid my index finger from the opposing hand at an angle in order to twist the space between the two fingers. It looked like a Chinese firecracker. Then I rolled the gauze from my index finger down over the wounded finger such that the end was sealed by the twist and there were two layers. There is unnecessarily expensive tools to properly wrap the finger too. But my method was effective, looked like a professional dressed it, and cheap. I found this to be so cost effective and useful that I now stock it in my first aid kit. A waitress was injured from broken glass and I dressed her finger with this. The only drawback is the flailed ends when cut. I used the CoBan to prevent further unraveling.CoBan: http://www.amazon.com/Coban-Self-Adherent-Wrap-1581-Rolls/dp/B00112RP2C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421950982&sr=8-1&keywords=coban+wrap&pebp=1421950983422&peasin=B00112RP2C

great item, original,
the first time a doctor put this type of bandage on my fingers ,that I previously cut. I bought package( 50 yards long) ,from my Experience is about 24 inches is good enough for One Finger I am kind of Handy that I can use a large plastic syringe I just have to cut the front of it so that it works like a tube and to be honest I work it much better than the metal cage that the doctor used to put this bandage on me in my opinion this bandage is a revolution of the future Revolution very easy to put on with one hand and practically If it is well fitted, it cannot be removed

Good value and quantity.
Great product. Was able to use without an applicator. If you aren’t as dexterous, an applicator is a must.

Saves money
I have bought 3 of these now and the first 2 fitted well over big toe for Dad's wound care. Not too loose or tight. This new box is much tighter (same size) so I had to used less dressing pad (1) instead of 2 under it. I had to stretch it out to fit. Regardless, this tubular gauge is still so much more easier to keep dressing on toe only with just a few strips of paper tape without having to wrap around the whole foot. Dad's dementia is a battle to keep anything on that's not suppose to be there so the less dressing seen the better chances of lasting during night.

You will never need to buy more again with 50 yards
This is a crazy good deal for this much gauze and I will probably never ever use it all. I bought the applicator which is expensive but a must have, especially if you are dressing your own finger one handed. I chopped off the end of my finger and needed a good layer of padding on it to hold on the dressings. I am glad I invested in this rather than regular gauze and tape or Coban all over it. It is important to be able to keep the affected finger moving and bending so hand therapy is not needed, and with this I was able to flex the finger no problem, but with tape it is not possible. I dressed with a few layers then split the leftover ends down the long way and used the ends to wrap around and tie around my hand and wrist to secure with no tape needed. I have graduated to band-aids now but I am sure I will be able to find uses for the rest of this.
