The Tusk crankcase splitter / separator is an indispensable tool if you are performing a bottom-end engine rebuild. Review: Good tool for Harley Cases. - Good splitter, used to split Harley M8 case over the overpriced Jims. Takes a little effort to setup due to all the moving parts, but once it's setup, works great. Wanted to reduce a star, but I was using this for a Harley and not offroad vehicle as the MFG intended. Same principal but the HD cases are larger and this tool was not "made" for that.
Review: don't force the job, take your time, be delicate with fitment. - worked like a champ, splitting cases on a small engine 50cc required this, and two other specialty tools totalling $95 worth of tools. Hopefully I will be using them more often!

**Q: Will I need another tool to rejoin the crank case ??**
A: Nope, just skills. Splitting it is the easy part. Putting it all back together and work.  “You are the tool” you can do it.

**Q: Dear friends please you can tell me which is the weight, because I want buy for bring To Ecuador**
A: It's about 5-10 lbs so I would plan on a shipping weight of 10lbs- I saw the response about it being 2lbs, I seriously doubt it but I do not have a scale in front of me to validate. It's about the same weight as a small sledge hammer. figure 10lbs and you should be safe. Very good device!

**Q: Will this tool work for a 2000 lt-a500f quadmaster?**
A: I used it on a Yamaha dirt bike, so I don't know. Measure from the crank center to screws in the case. If the tool arms will reach it will work.

**Q: Will this work on a suzuki lt500r bottom end?**
A: Haven't used it on lt500r  and don't have one to measure, but if it has 3 case screws around the crank which are close enough for the arms to reach I don't see why not. You may have to get screws of proper diameter and thread pitch and length. Don't damage your case by using wrong screws. I used it on a little Yamaha dirt bike and it was very slick. Beats razor blades and screwdrivers for separating the cases.

Tusk makes good quality tools. Definitely pricey compared to others but held up way better than a cheaper version I purchased. If you are planning on doing multiple motors I’d highly recommend spending the money.
