These gates were pretty easy to assemble - one person can do it, but it's nice to have a second person to hold/steady the gate while you're turning the pressure dials. Very easy to use. I can't understand the review that say it's hard to open them, especially to unlock them. I should say that I'm only using it because of my dogs, not kids, so I'm not concerned about the gates being locked - at least not until my dogs figure out how to lift the latch. The latch is very easy and can be used to secure the gate in closed position without having to lock it which makes I really like. But, even if you do want to lock it and push down on the white latch which engages the red lock mechanism, it's very easy to unlock as well. I can do it easily with one hand (I have small hands). Actually, I can do it with my thumb and one finger. So, I'm not sure why some were complaining about that in the reviews. I bought two. I give the whole gate -- quality for the price, assembly, stability, ease of use, ease of latching, locking, and unlocking - an A+. And the white looks good if your room's trim is white, at least in my house! Good buy.

These are wonderful. They cover a large area and have great gripping power. They distribute the pressure to keep the gate points from putting holes in the wall. I have used mine with a gate that has small, rectangular rubber grips for the wall - which would have been very easy to slip off the wall if accidentally hit or if my dog jumped on the gate. Now the gate is very secure. They are quite large, and not very pretty, but if you have a pressure mounted gate, then you are going for function and performance, not decoration! I bought one set, but actually needed two sets for my gate (upper and lower) so I purchased a second set. These are definitely needed if you are renting!

Not only are these great in protecting the wall, they also help keep the gate more secure, they stay put and don't damage the wall. Very easy to use and I couldn't ask for more. They are durable and easy to move when needed. I got these for my daughter, who's landlord is very particular and doesn't want any holes or marks on the walls, so I got these for her. I went and spent the weekend with her and was impressed with how nice these looked and how well they worked. Her landlord would be pleased.

I understand that this wall saver had to be large to spread out the force imposed by gate's threaded rods and their flanges; however, I was not able to use either of them as intended (to protect my drywall) because they were unable to be mounted flush in a spot where there are trim edges to contend with. I actually ended up cutting countersink holes to accommodate the gate hardware, and that works fine and looks even better. Come time to remove the gate, I will have those holes to deal with.There is, however, one unique way in which these wall savers were the perfect solution. At the other side of the gate from the wall/trim issue is a banister post that is flat at the bottom and lathe-cut at the top two thirds. One of these wall savers became a post saver so I consider the devices very useful and a good buy.

I wish I had these in our last house! Even with the foam padding the pressure mounts always managed to damage the wall and so far with these they have been great. No damage to the wall and it actually makes the gate more stable. I saw a few questions about how many to get... you will only need one set for the top mounts, because you won't have enough clearance to install them on the bottom and let the bottom bar be flush with the floor. Plus if you have molding on the bottom it is more resistant to damage over the drywall anyway.

Great product. We have acquired several styles of step over pressure gates through the years to keep our small dogs out of our kitchen. They all left a mark on the walls after being up for awhile. Recently we ordered a new style walk though gate and added these. Not only do they hold the gate securely and protect the wall, they also are a universal size so they could be used with our other gates if needed. We use them only on the top of the gate as the bottom is up against the baseboards and not as easily marked. Very happy with the product and would buy again.

These things are genius! I can't believe it took me so many years to find them. I learned the hard way that pressure mounting a gate on drywall puts a hole in your wall. So, after that, I had two sections of left over floor tile to spread out the pressure a bit. If you ran into the gate hard, the whole thing would fall down and the tile pieces would break. These wall savers are fabulous! They hold the gate firmly in place, it doesn't slide around or move, and the weight is evenly distributed so that you don't punch a hole in your wall.

These wall protectors are excellent. They appear to fit any size of baby/puppy gate and absolutely work. Without them I don't think I'd have any paint left on my walls! Quality purchase. Well made and do what they are advertised to do.

Simple easy to use product. Exactly as pictured. May not work well with smaller baseboards but you can always install the gate a little higher. Definitely saving our walls from damage (even when our kid is hanging off the gate).
