As usual desertcart expedited a speedy refund and the mugs were returned. I purchased Payco's (sp?) 24 oz. mugs and found no defects. I also discovered the quickest way to clean them as patina builds is w/ Barkeeper's Friend (sold here on desertcart!). A simple sponge w/the soft non-abrasive side and a few sprinkles of Barkeeper's does and excellent job of removing the patina left behind from usage. Some prefer not to clean them and let the 'character' show 'n grow. Others want a shiny patina free mug.
