Round end goes around the hose so you can hang it from the stove frame for storage **Q: Will the burner stay lit with a low flame? I need a burner for my smoker and it needs to maintain a low flame.** A: Yes, you can maintain a low flame by controlling the air intake. **Q: orifice size?** A: I dunno. I don't know how to measure the size of the holes. **Q: Can I add an extension to neck length (another 12")? Need to use in a clay oven and have the hose connection be outside of the oven?** A: No. it is all cast in one piece.
