Surfing around on Amazon led to an abundance of options. I picked these because-they came in a travel roll-being double ended they pack smaller-jewel toned colors-good graded assortment of sizes-reviews affirmed they are soft.They are pretty soft. They are pretty. They work well enough. But the roll up is a fail. It has a central elastic band sized for each one, but there are 2 problems: double ended brushes can get damaged trying to slide thru the elastic, so it takes two hands & extra care to rehome them, so more time is spent preventing damage than actually using the brush. The handles are contoured so the elastic loop, while too small to slide a brush thru bristles first, is too large to keep the handle from sliding. Since the roll is open on the ends, the brushes fall out. Also the roll fabric is unnecessarily thick and stiff.In short, the brushes are good for a starter kit or traveling or heck, even crafting. They’re reasonably soft. I haven’t used them enough to know if they’re durable because I was not motivated to wear makeup in a pandemic. But the roll up storage is a no. Better would be a thinner trifold fabric that would cover each brush end a keep them from falling out when rolled up, but could unfold & stay open as a drop cloth when unrolled. (Either unsecured or secured with a thin, loose elastic with larger gaps just to keep them from bunching up when rolled - as clips or snaps instead of sewn elastic would put it wayyy over the price point). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice! *by S***A on November 22, 2024* Just got these, haven’t used them yet, but soft & seemingly well made. I actually think some of the issues with the case staying closed could be solved by cutting the silver loop and just tying around it around the case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great except for the 'case' (w positive update) *by O***C on May 6, 2015* I haven't actually used these brushes with makeup yet, but I've had them for about a week, and I love almost everything about them. The bristles are supersoft, I love the colors, each of the brushes are labeled with a number and the set comes with a key that tells you which brush is which. The only thing I don't like is that the case they came in seems to be not reuseable at all. Unless I'm missing something. The brushes, especially the thicker ones, can't fit back into the holders in the case. I'd ruin the brush trying to get it back in there. Also, it's not a case, it's a flimsy plastic wrap with a flimsy plastic cord that doesn't keep the brushes protected, as it's open on both ends. the brushes keep sliding out. i'm going to have to buy a separate case and use that instead. I really wish I'd gotten the 'double trouble' instead of the 'Luna' because the case looks sturdier. But I need these for a wedding I'm leaving for in 2 days, so I don't have time to return them.Update: I've been using these brushes for like 2-3 years now. Ignoring the case, they get a 5-star review. The only thing I'd say is that the purple brush (bigger end) doesn't pick up as much product as I'd hoped. However, I've washed these brushes several times and they've kept their color. No bristles have fallen out, no other strange malfunctions...I'm honestly shook at how much of a score this was. Even though the wrap is flimsy, the brushes are small enough that they easily fit in a little pencil bag or something.
