If you get any type of solvent in contact with it, the color will come right off. Another piece of advice is shop around. All of these adhesive products are nothing more than shelf liner and you should not pay more than $10 for ANY of them. Some greedy sellers are selling this type of product for 800% profit since they only pay about $5 per roll. It's just shelf/drawer liner. **Q: How easily in this removed if needed?** A: It is very easy to apply. I have not had a need to remove. I really am pleased with it. **Q: Can it be over tile** A: Yes, I actually used it over the tile around my fireplace it looks great! **Q: How do you install this? Just peel and stick? or use a spray bottle with soapy water?** A: PS: of course clean the surface you want to put it on. But DO NOT use soapy water when putting it on. Soapy water is what you use to remove any sticky left behibd it if you decide later on to remove it. So having it on the surface when applying it would definitely interfere with it sticking. Only Peel a small amount as you go along, like 6 inches straight down. Leave the paper backing hanging below behind it. Apply that section. If you have to lift at any time to reposition, grab it by the part that still has backing on it to avoid stretching it. Wow, what a transformation! I'm especially loving that it cleans up nicely. The 35 year old Formica underneath is worn and everything that touches it, stains it. This film was a cheap and easy fix! It has truly wiped out the time I've spent scrubbing and bleaching counters, only to have them look dirty again the same hour.Tips: Watch videos on how to apply. Take your time! I found that applying it front-to-back was best - far fewer crease and bubble problems. I decided to try this while the hubs was out of town on a hunting trip, which is typically when I do my home remodeling projects, haha!I scrubbed the counters well and had areas with peeling paint, so my counters were not smooth. It was a bit challenging at first, especially the edges, which are plentiful on our island.I am blown away with how great they look, everyone thinks we got new counters, including my husband when he got home! So far they are holding up well, its been 3 months. I do always use a hotpad under anything that's even slightly warm, just to be safe. I have an area that I noticed has a tiny tear in it, so I cut a smaller piece and put over the top, worked great, you can't even tell! To truly get a smooth finish with no bubbles or weird seams, you've got to plan your install right and spend a lot of time, energy, and frustration smoothing out each piece. It's not for the faint of heart but it does look great when it's done. I won't say it looks exactly like granite, but it does look like high-quality, brand-new laminate, and the colors are quite modern and clean.Some reviews mentioned creasing – this happens if you try to install the paper sideways, against the direction of the roll. We did this for a small piece and it was incredibly difficult to get it smooth. We ended up using a hair dryer (very briefly and on a medium heat setting) to loosen it up so we could try to smooth it out, which worked but took a long time.
