All have worked perfectly out of the box and at first loading with ink. The pen itself is weighted enough to be aware of in your hand, but doesn't feel heavy. It balances nicely with or without the cap posted. Every nib has been surprisingly smooth. This model is simple but nice looking, and suitable for business or professional use. The four I own have slightly textured finshes which make the pen easily grippable and resistant to smudges. For the price it is outstanding for everything a fountain pen should be.

**Q: Is this pen smooth when writing ?**
A: I am amazed at how easy it is to write or draw with this pen. It's a great purchase and so affordable. I highly recommend these and have purchased another to use with a different color ink.

**Q: Can you use standard international repalcement ink cartridges?  I cannot find a listing for 3.4mm ink cartridges.**
A: Not for me!
I'm sorry, but the 3.4 ink cartridges they sell along with these pens do not work for me.  I have not been able to force any into the barrel.  The pen itself is fine - my favorite among six I have -, and the refiller cartridge works fine, but I also feel I need some spare cartridges.  Can anybody tell me exactly which ones work?  I ordered the Asvine Fountain Pen Ink Cartridges Black Color, Set of 30 Refill Ink Cartridges, 3.4 mm Bore Diameter, which are sold as a companion

**Q: What ink bootle do we use for this pen? the waterman 50ml ink bottle was recommend for this so is it the right one?**
A: The question is imprecise. Any fountain pen ink is suitable for use in this pen. Waterman, Diamine, J. Herbin, Robert Oster, etc., etc. Any bottle that says Fountain Pen Ink will do.

**Q: What is the pen's metal casing like, is it durable?**
A: I have a black color pen and use it daily. Over time, the color coating will wear off (in small batches and especially around the area where the cap closes at the body), and reveals a bronze-like color beneath. At other scratched areas at the top of the cap, the underlying color is a metallic gray. But it still looks nice and I continue to use as one of my many daily carries.

Excellent value. The pen shipped quickly and was well packaged. The metal is well-formed, with no sharp edges or sloppy engraving. I picked Extra Fine because this is to be an EDC/Work pen, and I will be using cheap paper. I have it filled with Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, and it writes wonderfully. I got the classic black for a sleek, professional look. There are a lot of other colors available, and I plan on picking up a few of the other colorways. It has a good size, long enough to use unposted even in my larger hands, but is made to be posted and writes like a dream when posted. The converter is fine. Good quality, but not the nicest nor the best converter I have handled. Just a note, this takes the 3.4mm size cartridges; most cartridges and converters that are listed as international will be either 2.4 or 2.6mm. Make sure you get the correct size, should you look for replacements. It doesn't ship with any cartridges, which is a bummer, but does include a converter.
