A: If he likes crystals, then he will be happy with any size that you buy him. But, I would say that the 1 to 1 1/2 pound size is significant enough to be a gift.

**Q: Are these real like someone really dug it up from the earth?**
A: Yes, real SYNTHETIC amethyst, meaning not from the Earth, but synthetically made in a lab- as most precious stones nowadays including diamonds. Do your research and pay attention to the word choice of the seller. "Real" doesn't necessarily mean organic. Knowledge is power.

**Q: What type of equipment would I need to cut this into smaller portions ?**
A: It might be easier to buy smaller pieces as you would need a rock saw.  There are rock saws for sale in the Amazon site I'm sure.

**Q: Are any crystals on your site Heat treated?**
