Even played the famous EVH Wolfgang guitar for a few years with two of the famous EVH Wolfgang Humbuckers in it and I can honestly say this sounds every bit as good and even crisper highs IMO for less than half the price! Thought I’d roll the dice. I knew when I picked it up and played it that it was a diamond in the rough. It needed several upgrades and a bit of set up work. New Hipshot staggered Locking tuners and synchronized trem system took care of the tuning stability. I kept the stock single coils but the stock bridge humbucker was just tolerable and not very inspiring. I chose this Duncan humbcker because I knew it was responsible for so many of the great Super Strat sounds I have heard growing up trough the late seventies and eighties Plugged it straight into my Stage Right 50 watt tube amp ( no pedals ) and Wow what an amazing sound! This is the first time I have heard the tubes driven so well without the need of a pedal. I have an HSS Fender Strat,, while the stock pickups sound great on that guitar, I'm already planning to swap out the stock bridge humbucker for another Duncan JB.
