Too Hot to Pass Up
Newly minted Murder, She Wrote author Jon Land has penned a fascinating, in-depth mystery filled with lots of good stuff, adding new elements to the narrative but also reviving characters and traditions from past entries, making Murder in Red too hot to pass up.As Jessica investigates the death of her card-playing pal, Mimi Van Dorn, she unlocks the evildoings at the Clifton Clinic, nestled in the picturesque landscape of the now-tourist saturated and crime-ridden town of Cabot Cove, Maine. Because of a blatantly obvious clue that pops out in an early chapter, it’s easy to figure out who the culprit is, but it’s the how and why of this tale about clinical trials and a money-making scheme involving a pharmaceutical giant that makes for an engrossing read.Land ends each chapter with a cliffhanger, like those used in the old radio serials – you know, of the cue-the-organ kind. And, by allowing Jessica to reflect on mortality, relationships and loneliness, Land reminds us that our heroine, albeit a rare individual, is merely human like the rest of us.Jessica’s trademark resolve leads to an ending that’s both thrilling and clever, and a double-header surprise makes this book even more satisfying. As if all this weren’t enough, a final act of kindness proves that the Jessica Fletcher loved by millions of readers like me is back after having left us in the last two entries in this beloved series.

Exciting ending!
Jessica's beau George Sutherland shows up in Cabot Cove to participate in a clinical trial being run by a new facility outside of town that has Jessica's attention. Her investigation leads to the most physical escape that I have ever seen Jessica experience. A minor argument between Mort and Jessica over what he calls her becomes tiresome and unnecessary, but I still enjoyed the book.

Consistent quality read
Strong older female protagonist. Plenty of focus on day to day living and clues to values. Good support system portrayed.

One of my favorites from the series. Setting in Cabot cove with the regular characters and ambiance. George Southerland also makes and appearance. It is everything I read MSW for.

Jessica is no longer a repressed woman, without emotion. Great! Thank you ?Jon!
Far better than the previously written books by Baine. Gone is the cozy old fashioned Jessica. She has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, and about time to. Okay, she doesn’t drive yet, but she is into modern techhnology, and is allowed, courtesy of Jon, to show raw emotion. And even she has this, believe it or not, even Jessica! The older books might have been cozy but were far too unrealistic for the 21st century, even in sleepy America.

Murder,She Wrote in book form yay
I have started reading this novel in the book series and I feel as though I am watching an episode of the tv series and it could have been made into an episode of the tv series. The spirit of the show is there .I ham enjoying reading it I love how it has all the elements and you can see Angela Lansbury and William Winton ( Doc Seth Hazel) in your minds eye while reading it .I have only started reading the books and am enjoying them so much and you can't put the book down as I am having difficulty in doing so as it very well written. So if you love the television series then you will enjoy the books .Then start reading these books and enjoying them as I do
