Great entry level model kit with few flaws
Picked up this kit as it looked like a great interpretation of the famous anime character. It's a good looking, easy to assemble kit that is a great resemblance to the anime. The accessories (an energy ball, a Kamehameha blast, and stand) are good additions although the stand leaves something to be desired as although it can hold the figure its tenuous at best.Poseability is good you can get some great action poses, including a likeness of Goku's combat stance and he can hold the Kamehameha charge readily. The biggest quirk to this kit is the included stand. While the stand can support the figure and has an attachment to do so, the support is flimsy and can't be used without the figure's feet as additional balance points. The feet are a little small to allow to much floor/ground based posing but the figure can be manipulated into a number of poses and shots. If you do pick this up, I recommend a figure stand to help with posing.

The Standard Figure Rise Goku is fantastic. Between Dragon Ball Stars
The Standard Figure Rise Goku is fantastic. Between Dragon Ball Stars, Figarts and Figure Rise, Figure Rise seems to have the closest to the animation. This representation of Goku appears to be from the Android Saga, due to the red trim on the boots and lack of belt ties. It might be noted he didn't have training logos from the Turtle Clan or King Kai on his Gi, but stickers for both come with it. Which is nice.Goku stands over 6 inches, and is a nice addition to any 6" or 7" scale figures. Slightly taller than most marvel legends, but shorter than Master if the Universe Classics. The figure is much lighter than any of those figures, due to the abs plastic and hollow parts. It does seem more fragile than those figures, also.Once put together, certain parts pop off easily. ESPECIALLY the feet. Hands seem to barely fit in place also. I used super glue gel to keep the feet in place. I then used the gel glue to do a thin coat around the ball joints, this prevented them from falling out so easily, but still allows them to be changed.Painting was a cinch because I could separate the parts easily enough to paint whole sections very quickly. I used testors dull coat to coat the acrylic paint, applied the stickers I wanted to use, then more dull coat to keep the stickers protected. I'm not sure if that's the best method for the stickers, but we'll see. After these modifications, I absolutely love this figure!!!Also, I should note, there wasn't a stand for the Ki blast, but I'm happy to at least get a ki blast.

Lacking in important things
So don't get me wrong- this product is amazing. For me it took around 2 hours to build- but it should really take maybe 45 minutes to an hour long. The process was fun, and watching the model kit slowly take shape into Piccolo was probably one of the best parts of this model kit.Accessories:It comes with 2 faces, a basic Piccolo face and a yelling face. They're both really good. Nothing to complain about. He also comes with his cape and turban, for when he isn't fighting. The cape however, is extremely annoying. When you put it on him correctly, it seems like it's constantly windswept back. As if the wind is blowing against Piccolo. The reason I dislike this is because the cape just takes up so much space on a display stand. Even trying to put Piccolo all the way in the back, he's always going to be protruding so much due to his cape sticking out so much. I've decided it was best to just remove the cape, and have Piccolo without his turban and cape on display. Speaking of which, the turban is good. It has a separate neutral face (without the antennas). Yet it shares the same piece used for the back of Piccolo's head. Which means it requires dismantling the head into 3 separate pieces, and then putting it back together from 4 pieces (now with the turban and other face without antennas). This isn't too bad however. He comes with a pair of fisted hands, and a special beam cannon hand... but zero kinds of open hands. It's either fisted, or special beam cannon. This is yet another issue I have with this figure. There are no open ki blast hands, or even any gripping hands. Very disappointing. He also comes with a stand for the special beam cannon, which can also double up as a stand for himself since it comes with a clasp for figures. But it's truly awful. It can't support his weight- making it useless for the figure and only having use for the special effect, which is alright I guess. I could only find use for it because due to that very annoying cape mentioned above, he tends to fall backwards (which wouldnt be an issue if the cape just draped downwards) and with good enough balancing on the cape, feet, and stand he wont fall over. Still, almost useless.Sculpt:It's alright. Nothing really to see here. It's a model kit, so pieces fit together like they should. Just dont get confused with what pieces you currently have and which way to insert them, b/c you will regret it when you least expect it while building it.Paint:It's a model kit so there is no paint- for Piccolo's ankles and tongue you're required to use stickersFinal Verdict:Despite no open hands, and extremely annoying cape, I would still recommend this over the Figuarts one. It's only 35 dollars, and if you like anime accurate colors this is the figure for you. But if you're willing to spend a bit more money, go for the Piccolo SH Figuarts if you really want to. I personally pick this Piccolo over the other for the awesome special effect piece, and the fact that he scales in much better with Sh Figuarts DBZ figures than the SH Figuarts Piccolo figure himself.

Finally Piccolo is Released!!
Piccolo is my sixth figure rise Dragonball Z model and I have been checking Amazon since April to see when he would finally be released.Delivered perfect in two days (Prime) and the set up is like all the rest. You do not need to paint or glue anything. Set up was rather easy, his shoulders gave me some trouble because the pieces are almost identical and I had them switched by accident. Also be careful with the red muscle outline pieces, very thin and delicate but there are only two of them.Overall, Piccolo looks awesome. I loved the pose with him crossing his arms so that’s how I set him up. Also added the Super Saiyan 2 hair to Gohan since I am using my Cell figure with one of the Androids. I think Piccolo and Gohan look pretty cool together!Would rate Piccolo third overall out of the six figures I have. Broly would be first and Cell second, both those figures have amazing detail. Piccolo just looks awesome and intimidating, a step up from figures like Trunks and Gohan but not really overall Cell quality level. If you’re a fan get Piccolo! Will look awesome in any collection, $35 isn’t bad if it’s ever in the $20 range it’s a steal. I bought Broly right when he was released for $55 now it’s $40 but whatever.Next release is Vegeto yeah who cares. Give me Raditz and Bardock!!

Item does not look like picture
This item is something that you have to build to make the figure but the pieces that you need to use. Don’t look like the picture. I do not recommend this it is not worth $50.

Figura
