I imagine it could work directly on a computer but most likely you would need a female 1/4" TS (mono) to male 1/8" TS (mono) adapter, as I know of no computers with a 1/4" mic input to accept the connector that this mic receiver has. With an adapater it could plug into the 1/8" mic input that many computers have. Mic levels can be adjusted within Windows. Whether that would be enough, I don't know. Using my small mixer, I can boost levels and do so more conveniently. When pulling it from our speaker to store again, it broke, leaving a piece stuck inside our Mic 1 outlet. This make it that when we actually needed the microphone it didn't work .. and has also made it that we cannot use the Mic 1 slot. All that said, disappointed.
