YMMV, but I also got away with using a 3m Cable Matters passive USB 3.0 extension cable. You may or may not need either an active USB 3.0 cable or a powered USB 3.0 hub instead. The Rift S is notoriously picky when it comes to cable extension, and this repeater seems to be as close as you can get to an almost guaranteed solution without the risk of wasting silly money if it doesn't work.
