Have you ever wondered who you would have been if your life had gone differently? How would you direct your life if everything were up to you? Maybe you would be a magician, or travel around the world? Or maybe big business tempts you, and your goal would be to earn a million dollars?"" means curriculum vitae – your resume – and in the dice and card game CV you will lead a character through his entire life, making many choices about friends, relations, jobs and activities. Everything is possible: a dream job, new relationships and skills. You can be whoever you want! Gameplay is built around the Yahtzee-style dice rolling and re-rolling system. On their dice, players are trying to roll sets of symbols that allow them to acquire cards; each round these cards give benefits of some kind, such as new symbols and special abilities. At the end of the game, each kind of ard scores points for the player.

Could be our new favorite game
Based on the first play through, we love it! As an American, I didn't know what a CV was until this game and now I hear it all over the place. Regardless of the name, it's kind of irrelevant. It's all about who can live out the most fulfilling life according to that character. The expansion should provide a great addition to competitive player interaction.

Charming
This game is great for a long relaxing game. It has become one of my mom's favorites. The cards are extremely thematic and the artwork is filled with whimsy. I hope to play it with my gamer group soon for a 4 player experience. Great game and very different from anything I own.

This is a very unusual game. Using cards and dice you build your life story. The scoring keeps this game competitive.

Great game! Can play two player
We absolutely love this game. It's great two player, though we have house rules that make the game a little bit longer as we feel like it goes just a little too fast.

Love it! But replayability can be an issue..
For everyone that has ever played the classic board game, Life, CV has basically replaced it for me.The theme of both games are very similar, you have you childhood years, young adult, middle age, and senior years - but instead of a spinner with a board that you move through, the entire gameplay is based off of dice rolls and cards that represent an event in your CV life. Each life stage has their own deck of cards, and the game progresses as each previous life deck runs out and you move on to the next one. The progression is determined by how you want to "live" your life through the purchase of these event cards - these event cards varies, such as learning First Aid, being employed as an Intern, getting Married, Retirement, and so on. These cards are bought through "currency" that is represented by the dice. The dice in this game has their own set of icons - money, good luck, bad luck, relationships, health, and knowledge. The amazing thing about this game is how the game reflects the value of the cards through these rolls. Each turn your roll your dice and use what is rolled as currency.Imagine a day in your life, are you feeling lucky that day? Was there a recent pay roll? Do you have lots of friends and a support network? You basically put all of these factors on your dice rolls - there is always a certain amount of luck in your every day life. If you're feeling healthy, you might want to go for a jog - and thus pick up the Jogging card for instance. Another example, the Intern, requires a some luck, health, and relationship in order to be bought (you'd need some networking skills, be in good health for all the awful hours, and a bit of luck on that interview to land that internship)All of this make for a fun game as some of the players just forego winning just to pick up some cards that they don't "need" in order to tell a brand new life story for themselves:"I was a sickly child, but thanks to that, picked up some immunity and decided to work out to become an athlete. I got married to my first love and although our first child had me working in my dad's company, it finally gave me the idea and courage to open up my very own start-up business. I had an early retirement and enjoyed relaxing in my countryside mansion as I watched my grand kids play on my old scooter and bicycle."Isn't that awesome? The goal of the game is to be the one who has led the most diverse and fulfilled life - there are "goal" cards that you can secretly buy event cards to maximize your points - for example, material things make you happy - thus you will spend the bulk of your energy trying to buy that boat, that scooter, that mansion and yacht. Or are you a jack of all trades? Then you will try to get all the career cards you can.All in all this makes for great game - the artwork on the card is whimsical and light and completely fits the theme of the game. Here's the caveat however - there isn't much replayability to the game. In order to finish the game, you have to run through all the cards - that means by your 3rd or 4th game, you have pretty much memorized all the cards there are. It could also be due to the fact that I've played it 6 times over 2 days, but I can't see myself playing it again anytime soon - at least, not without a long break in between playing sessions.I wish they had more cards - a LOT more cards - this would've greatly added to the replay value, or perhaps had variants where there were subsets of cards that you play per game - this would leave me wondering what's around the corner. On the bright side, there IS an expansion out, and it's something that I'm going to purchase to see if it would open up the replayability a bit!

I really hated this game. Nice components, really nice art, but thats about it. I mean, if you love being bored to death, get 2 copies of this game. You'll be in Heaven.

Great game!
We bought this one after doing lots of research on what some of the best 2 player board games are available. And we've been playing this one non-stop along with Carcasonne since I purchased it several months ago. The one thing that is a bit weak is that the number of life goal cards is rather weak. After playing it a few times, we actually just created a few new ones for ourselves and this increased the replay value immensely! There is an expansion pack out there, but it's not a great value for what you get I've heard. Though some people might like it to help the replay value. Otherwise, great game!

Really enjoyable strategic board game
Currently the best game I have ever played. This game has similarities the board game ' The game of life' however with the addition of tokens and dice, it leaves less to chance and success in the game relies on your own choices throughout the game. The artwork is also very well done.

It's a fun light game with good quality cards and dice components. It plays in about an hour and works well as a transition game. The artwork is funny and I would recommend it as a family game.
