Good value for money
I have played guitar for 20+ years. Used to play live weekly, but currently 10-12 times a year. Until recently I used a Live 6 POD HD 300 for club gigs for ease of switching between tones and plugging directly into a PA , but recently it developed a problem and I've decided to go another direction. I've decided to go back to floor stomps, but I don't want to break the bank on boutique pedals that are going to get some abuse on a stage. I have quite a few random pedals, but needed a phaser. The amp used is a Bogner Alchemist with a variety of guitars.I grabbed this because of the price point and the positive experience with another Joyo pedal, the Ultimate Drive. Is it an MXR Phase 90? No, but it isn't bad either. It's a fairly subtle phase and you can turn the knob quite a bit without a massive change in tone or sound. If you are looking for a phaser that dramatically changes your tone this may not be the one, but I'm actually quite pleased with it since I like my effects to be fairly plug and play and a subtler phase was what I was looking for. It does get close to the early EVH brown sound phase, but isn't quite as thick. Works well with other pedals, but not the quietest pedal when engaged which is to be expected with a phaser. Doesn't seem to overly suck tone or volume when bypassed as part of a chain.I can't speak to the durability yet since I have only had it for a week. The other Joyo product I have has worked fine for three months. The battery leads seem flimsy and I don't think any Joyo pedals would survive long term abuse and serious neglect, but I think this one would be just fine for causal live playing and bedroom use. The one I received didn't have the horse graphic, but is orange.Overall my two experiences with Joyo pedals have so far been positive. You might not impress tone purists with any Joyo pedals but value seeking guitarists will appreciate them and 99% of people listening to you won't notice any difference. If I needed a chorus or delay I would consider other Joyo pedals, but right now this pedal finishes my board.

Amazing for the price.
The reason this is only getting 4 stars and not 5 is due to an issue I only discovered yesterday - yes - almost one year after I purchased it.Going back to October, 2014 - plugged it in and played with it. Loved it. Around 12 o'clock position just worked for me. Yes - that early EVH sound is there but playing around also gets you Gilmour and Hendrix as well. Sounds great with distortion, or without. But a word about distortion - I place it in front of my amp and after distortion pedals. If I place it before distortion it is more subtle and when placed in front of amp, and with the amps overdrive channel on, it is very subtle. I point this out because of some reviews and comments about this being far too subtle of a pedal and it really isn't - and if you open it up there is a small "sweep" knob you can access and adjust - people have reported finding it set too low. I would suspect opening it would void your warranty - but it is an super easy tweak if you think your pedal is not working correctly. Now onto the issue I found - in trying to reduce overall noise I discovered, by process of elimination, the pedal causing a lot of buzz is the JF-06. So I removed it from my chain and put in the battery - and guess what? Does not work. When the battery is in and pedal off the signal passes through but when I kick on the pedal it outputs buzz and nothing else. Hard to think I never used this with a battery before yesterday. So I suspect this buzz is some sort of miswired/faulty connection having to do with the internal 9 volt battery clip. I did do a look over inside, looking for anything obvious such as loose solder. Nothing jumped out at me. So for now living with it, but because I love this so much I will get another - although technically this is still under the one year warranty I really do not want to pack it up and send off to China for a replacement. But if any of the official US JOYO distributors reading this would send me out a new one that would work too.

Not phased by this pedal, or am I ?
The joyo phase pedal is my third joyo and I do like it. I used to have a mxr phase 100 and yes the parameters on that baby were nice but it broke and I'm broke so I tryed this puppy. I think the joyo is pretty nice and am getting some nice Leslie like tones, gilmourish tones and Hendrix trower tones. I find it to have the perfect amount of swosh and depth for my tastes. I like it best clean or overdriven, not so much with my higher gain pedals. I played with the order in which I lined them up and ended up after my overdrives and distortions. My pedal board is oddball because I use a multi effect unit and pedals together but I get some decent tones so there you have it. I don't find joyo pedals to be overly noisey, except the high gain ones like pocketmetal which is a killer pedal. I run all pedals on a 9v adaptor and after adding three joyos there is no noise increase and really once the bands going what is a little noise, I already have the issue of tube amps and single coils so really it's pretty much nothing over those. I am totally phased by this puppy and hope it lasts awhile, at thirty bucks hard to miss. Boutique snobs will turn their nose but just punch em there because if they think they're above China I laugh, it's all coming from there with parts at the least and I don't care about anything but function and tone which I have. I'm looking to build an all joyo pedalboard soon because they have a vast line of nice knock offs so that's my take, I been at this game for thirty years and I love playing weekend rockstar at my local pubs and events and I never had a stranger come up and say anything other then I rocked, which is fun. Joyos a joy to me so far but time will tell if there worth the peanuts you get em for and I hope they don't increase as the word gets out . Get them from the Amazon vendor cheaperpedals.com. They test before shipping which is nice! Good luck peeps rock on!

I don't think Hank done it this way
But Waylon did and this gets me there at a great price.

Subtle rather than spacey
I got this at the same time as my JOYO JF-09 Tremolo pedal, and again have been slowly integrating it into my 'board for the last couple of weeks. The single control does initially feel slightly limiting, and there is a definite sense that this isn't capable of being one of those mad-cap spacey phasers that are out there. However, the sweep of the effect does offer a fair amount of variation - although as I said in the title, this is a more subtle effect. I think that describing it as a "Classic 70's phaser" is a little generous - it doesn't match up to an old Ibanez I used to have access to - but it is worth spending some time with this pedal, as it has definite musical potential. My band veer wildly between indie-pop and prog-rock, so it quickly became clear to me that a phaser was definitely needed. As far as I'm concerned, it has already earned its place on my 'board: there's a secton in one of our songs that was crying out for some phase. It didn't take me long to find the right level, and when I played it, the singer just looked at me with a mad grin on his face. I use a range of effects, none of them particularly expensive, and each one has a purpose. I get the feeling that as we write more songs, this pedal will get used more, but the Β£30-ish I paid is already worth it, just for that one song.As with the Tremolo pedal, the chicken-head control moves easily but not too freely; the footswitch doesn't go "clang" when you activate it, but it has an ambivalent attitude towards my current power brick and chews batteries for breakfast. I love the colour (all things orange are by their nature cool), but again the graphic seems pointless and has nothing to do with what the pedal does. However, that's a very minor complaint. It says it is True Bypass: I can't prove or disprove that as I have so many pedals in my rig that some signal degradation is inevitable. That said, when I play my guitar clean, with all the effects off (it does happen occasionally!), I don't notice any colouring to the sound - and seeing as I'm also a sound engineer, my ears should be able to pick that sort of thing up...In summary, if you want an outrageous space-effect phaser, look elsewhere (I'd suggest Electro-Harmonix, Ibanez, or MXR pedals, which cost a shedload more): if you want someting that is capable of being more subtle and musical, but balk at the price of most phasers (why are they generally so expensive?), then this might just be what you've been looking for.

Disappointing
I expected more of this pedal based on the reviews on Amazon and YouTube. But, well, it just didn't deliver. With the nob anywhere between 0 and three quarters on, you just couldn't tell if it was even on. There was virtually no effect at all. From three-quarters on to full, you could tell there was an effect but it was very weak. More like a tremolo effect than a phase. The speed was evident, but there was no depth to it.I have returned it and will be looking at EXH and MXR alternatives now.UPDATE: I bought the Mooer Ninety Orange and it's way better than the Joyo. You can switch between vintage and modern modes (clones of both MXR 90s)

JOYO Phaser
Solid construction, true by pass, all very tidy with no complaints in the build of the thing. My issue with the pedal is its lack of effect. It is very, very subtle. Almost bordering on a weak tremolo pedal. This may well be the intended sound for this little box but its not for me. I guess thats what happens if you buy without trying the effect.I also have the joyo overdrive (fulltone clone). That thing is fantastic! Generally for the money these Joyo pedals are no a brainer. Great little things. All in all I have nothing but praise for the company but the sound of this effect is not for me.

Died within 2 days
I bought another Joyo pedal which is still working happily, but this one died almost immediately. I'm guessing that some of the solder was weak & cracked as the room it was in is warm in the day & cold at night. This is not a problem for any of my other pedals.

Worthy purchase
I am extremely pleased with this pedal. A fraction of the price of an MXR Phase 90. No brainer.
