## Questions & Answers

**Q: What size are the lugs that connect to the inverter? Are they 3/8" or 5/16ths"?**
A: The terminal post is 9/32" so a 5/16" ring terminal is what you want to use. The contact area of he pad is 1/2"

**Q: How many amps does it draw when idle? trying to figure out if i can just leave this thing on all of the time in my rv.**
A: I could not find that for this particular model, but found other pure sine wave generators in this size range that say that in idle mode the current is from 0.5 amps to 1.5 amps. I have wired the remote switch into my trailer, so I do switch it off at the end of the day. Yes, if your TV/playback systems do not have battery backups, you have to reset the time, etc. Leaving it on during the night would use about 180 watts with no load. I have 200watt panels, so it would cost me about 1 hour of my charge time during the day to leave it on for 10 hours of darkness. Since I have nothing else on during the day, I could probably just leave it on, but have not done so yet. Been very please with the unit thus far.

**Q: Does this inverter autostarts after a low voltage shutdown, or does it require a manual restart.**
A: Good morning Ric-Hard,The inverter will automatically shut down when the input DC voltage is lower than 10V. The buzzer will whistle continuously and the green light is off red light on. You will have to turn off the inverter and use it after recharge battery. Short answer : Manual restart. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

**Q: What if the remote is showing an orange light instead of green and won’t turn on the inverter?**
A: You could have a permanent fault condition. It might also be a bad switch of cable. Unplug the cable from the back of the inverter and try using the on/off button instead.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Update: final resolution (was:just what I needed)
*by F***S on May 23, 2023*

Update April 15: I received the tracked package, installed it, and am back in business. GoWISE even followed up after delivery. Tremendous effort by the customer support team from start to finish. I've bought houses and cars where the seller wasn't this concerned with the experience.Update April 9: they received it, and within a couple work days tested / found it defective, and advised they will ship a replacement. I am legitimately impressed with how GoWISE has handled the whole thing.Update March 29: GoWise responded quickly via email support, asked for appropriate information, and issued an RMA and shipping on their dime. Whether or not the failed unit is replaced I think they are handling the issue correctly so I am adjusting the review stars upward. Will update with final resolution for the curious.Update March 28: this inverter failed at the 11 month mark when powering on and smells like a leaking capacitor or something similar. Green power LED comes on but output shows <1v at the outlets. I checked the user-serviceable fuses and they are all intact. I saw no obviously-leaking caps. The warranty pdf says there is a 1 year warranty. I will ask that the seller send out a replacement (used is fine with me) and will update with what I hear back from GoWise, if anything. If they honor the wty the inverter will once again warrant my original 4star rating.---- original review follows ---This inverter is quite large for its 1000w rating, but it's a good one if you have room. I needed a ~1000w PSW with:* bolt-style terminals* decent waveform* decent standby power consumption* fans that follow temp or other logic rather than always-onI've dorked around with smaller form-factor inverters but the thumbscrew terminals were too lightweight, prone to working loose and heating up. I kept the same cables from before and with these heavy bolt terminals they stay TIGHT and COOL.My biggest combined AC load is ~775w (Instant Pot mini 3qt + background loads) so I can't speak to it running the rated 1000w. , but it doesn't miss a beat at 775w. And standby consumption is a couple watts LOWER than my 300w Aims PSW.The fans come on only when needed and are no louder than my 300w or smaller size 1000w.I don't know about the remote functionality because I don't use it; mine stays on 24/7.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ works great , better then my grid power
*by J***J on July 16, 2018*

going on 4 years non stop 24/7 aside from batteries loosing power, works great , wish it would turn back on automatically after no power, not good using on fridge or freezer if not there to turn it back on , for this reason i using an upgraded inverter that turn on after power failure for freezer, using this one for tv computers and stuff thats only in use when there, am planing on making a momentary switch that will work when power returns for this inverter, i like this inverter a lot, works great, very good power regulation, 120v, just like the grid and reliable lasts and efficient, uses about an amp+- no load, just need to make it to automatically turn back on after power loss when batteries regain power.4 years after review ;So i been using this inverter to power wifi and 24/7 because at live at end of power loosing power weekly just st from rain let alone snow . I perchased 2 of these the first one failed after about 2 years , the second one I took apart and reassembled with best heat sink past and so on , now to now , this inverter I rebuilt with better thermal past now has been in service 24/7 for 3 years and is pumping out 1500watts continuesly, why I updated house heat and what not smart everything so I run it off the inverter for I loose everything from tvs to washers from bad power , so now I have maxed it out running at 19.99 to 120 at 60htz , I know I maxing it for it never went below 120v before .its sine wave it also starting to give out at the 1500watts , just let me say that it can run it all at the 1500watts is amazing , I just perchased there 3000 watt model hope it works as good and better .i have had many inverters , this one is a keeper on the mark with its pure sine wave spot on and it's 120v spot on . This one does not flicker the led lights either better then my grid power . Thank you

### ⭐ Don't waste your time and money. Not a pure sine wave inverter, lots of problems.
*by B***R on July 2, 2023*

TL:DR: Not pure sine wave. USB output doesn't work. Fan very loud and pulses. Remote causes the unit to turn itself off at random times. Spend your money elsewhere.Updated review after some more use. I hooked up my laptop's power supply to the AC from the inverter and my touchpad immediately quit working correctly. Tried several times unhooking from power, checking the touchpad, then hooking back up. Clearly my computer doesn't like the power coming from this unit. The claim of "Pure Sine Wave Power" is clearly untrue. Also, after more use even if it was pure sine wave I would probably ditch it because of the fan. Not only is the fan loud when it comes on (which is way too often, by the way, even with only about 15 watts of load on the unit), but after about 2 or 3 days of off-and-on use, the fan began pulsing when it would come on. That made the sound very annoying as it was just this constant louder and softer "thrumming" noise. When combined with the other issues (faulty remote, USB power not working), this inverter rates as only barely even functional (it does put out AC current sufficient for basic tasks, but don't use it for your electronic devices!). Junk.Original Review below (rated 3 stars at the time):I got this inverter to power my off-grid cabin. It is hooked up to a 200 amp-hour 12V LiFePO4 battery and the batteries are being charged by 200W of solar panels and a 30A MPPT charge controller.First, the good. AC power seems good so far. I haven't run any sensitive electronics yet. I did check the output voltage and it's pretty consistent around 116 V on my unit. Not quite up tp the claimed 120 V, but close enough that it should power most things just fine. The bad. The fan seems to kick on at fairly low loads (but only when it's been running them a while) of around 15-20 watts. It will run for about 10 minutes, maybe a bit less, then kick back off. The fan is certainly louder than it should be and is rather distracting in an otherwise quiet indoor space. If I have the radio going I have to turn it up due to the loudness of the fan.Second, the USB port in my unit appears to be completely dead. Tried hooking up my phone to it today to charge and it never registered on my phone. Checked the cable with a small lithium battery bank charger and the cable was good, so it appears that my unit has no USB power.Third, the "remote" on my unit is worse than worthless. It does switch the unit on and off, but when the remote is hooked up (or even just the cord for it plugged in but not the switch), the inverter likes to randomly turn itself off. I have read at least one other review where this happened to another buyer. This renders the remote useless.Fourth, the power button is a soft button, meaning that it is controlled electronically and thus the inverter is always drawing power, even when the inverter is "off." I would much rather prefer a hard toggle that physically disconnects the inverter from the battery. When it is off, I want it truly and completely off and drawing no power. This is really important for off-grid situations, which is exactly what this style of inverter should be designed for. This is my biggest gripe for this unit. I'm ticked off that the USB doesn't work at all, and the noisy fan shouldn't be a thing (at least not a low loads). The remote is a gimmick I can do without, but the constant power draw might cause me to return this unit and look for something else.In summary, it works fine as an inverter, but needs design work to fix some significant flaws.
