I already own a Nemo folding pad, but I wanted a wider pad to go with my Exped Dura 8R LW mattress so I ordered this Exped FlexMat. It is hard and plastic-e. You would absolutely never lay directly on this mattress and I don't think a sleeping bag would provide enough cushion for this mat, you will absolutely need to put an air mattress on top of the pad.
