This book is amazing. If you're new to mandolin, you need this.There's no fluff.  Theres like 1 cover page, a table of contents, a very basic page on music theory stuff, then the rest is stuff to practice. There's no paragraphs or pages of text, its literally all tabs of scales and techniques to practice. Its amazing.
