Frye or Fake Still Pretty Great
Like some reviewers who have purchased Frye boots directly from their website or department stores, I too question where or not these are real Frye's, but I also don't care and here is why:1. They say they are made in Mexico, where Frye use to do production. Since leaving Mexico the quality of the boots has declined. These boots feel better than my for sure "real" Frye boots.2. Frye doesn't make this boot the way they use to. This boot fits like the one's that I have worn for years. And, I honestly want to get a second pair because they really aren't making these like this anymore.3. Yes, you have to size up but Frye's are typically tight in the toes. I do have to go a full size up in this brand so I don't see this as anything outside of the norm.4. I'm not buying this for the branding I am buying it because they are good leather boots with a design that I feel is versatile. The ankle has a nice hang to it that makes it easy to pair with jeans, is cute with shorts, and even dresses or skirts. I've worn my pair year round for years (and have even gone to the cobbler just to hang onto them past their life span). I'm not a cowgirl boot kind of person, but I do love these boots and I think the design is a nice bridge for different daily looks and seasons. If they happen to have your size (again a full size up for sure) because even if they are fakes they are better than the actual state of brand new Frye's.

Great Looking and Well Made
I wear a regular width size 9 and have a "regular" heel. I found the boots to be true to size. The leather is stiff but I expected them to be. I bought them in October and have only worn them about six to ten times and only two of those times were for all day. I might still be in the breaking in phase. They are made to last and I'm sure it will takes some time to "make them mine." The front of the boot is fitting nicely and molding to my feet without any problem but I am having problem with the heel. My heel slips and I get blisters. I can't wear heavier socks or else the front would be too tight. I can't use any kind of heel strips because they come loose when putting the boots on. I'm puzzled about the heel fit. Maybe if the front loosens up a bit more then I can wear heavier socks. I have other boots that are comparable in quality (not as stiff and rugged though) and they felt good right out of the box. I'm new to this type of boot. Frye has a great reputation and I love the look of the boot and the quality. I'll update today's comment as time goes on.April 2013: Unfortunately, these boots are not getting better with time. My heel still slips. I tightened the straps hoping that this would keep my heels from slipping. It didn't help - just made it hard to get the boots off or on. This boot just doesn't fit well in the heel and rubs. I wish that I hadn't bought them - one can't wear boots if they don't feel good. Good reason not to buy off of a website without knowing how they will fit. Other reviews say they feel great - this is the only brand I've ever bought (from a website or not) that felt so bad.

Love love love these boots!
Beautiful boots - the real deal - they fit, feel & look as fabulous as I’d hoped - at $300 it was kind of a splurge for me, but I’ve been wanting a pair for a long time, & I’m so happy to report that they are definitely worth every penny!

What I was looking for so I will probably keep it
I bought these in the Slate Burnished Antiqued Leather in 7.5. I did a little back and forth with some people saying they run small and some saying the run true to size. I just usually order my size and if they don't fit, they go back - no big. These are my first pair of Frye boots. I've been an admirer for awhile and I finally decided to buy some. I just received these and tried them on. They are on the narrower side, but they weren't too narrow. At the widest by feet are about 3.5" across and the toe box on these is probably 3.75", hehe. I can probably wear these with very thin trouser socks without a problem (and the socks will probably make getting them on easier), but thicker socks are completely out of the question - if you like to wear thick socks with boots I would go 1/2 size up. I actually had a really hard time getting my left foot in because these are pull-ons but I loosened the front buckle and that helped. The heel was a little loose, but I have very narrow heels compared to the width of my toes/ball of foot.Overall, the color is exactly what I was looking for. It came out of the box completely coated in a white dust, but that wipes right off leaving you with a beautiful burnished grey-taupe color. The smell is the smell of real leather which was a little disconcerting to me, but I'm sure that will dissipate. Overall, I'm happy with this boot. But I will wear it a few times and update my review if needed.

Perfect Boot
Runs small. Based on others comments I ordered a size larger and they’re just right.

Sizing confusion!
I LOVE this style boot! Unfortunately, the 8 is way too tight & small. I tried the 8.5 and it was huge! I am at a loss! Normally I wear a 7.5 or 8 in Frye shoes.

Runs Small
Just got these boots in today and have to return them because they are super tight. I am usually a size 9 and ordered a 9.5 because I read where they run small. I’d have to try on the 10 or 10.5 for these to even fit slightly comfortable. Just FYI for those considering!Other than that, they look great and have that amazing leather smell :)

Perfect
First of all these are 100% authentic. Mine came in a Frye box with the Frye tissue paper and a producet or brand card. I wear a size 9, I ordered a size 9 and the boots fit as expected. In boots, your heel is supposed to slide a little. I ordered the stone color and it is a very nice shade of brown which is exactly what I wanted. The toe part is a little darker and looks really cool. I bought a black pair of this style Frye boot from Costco a couple of years ago and love them so I wanted a brown pair. This pair does not disappoint. I was a little concerned from some reviews saying they got fakes but I definitely did not get fakes. These are perfect boots. They are supposed to be slouchy so good there. Color, good. Leather, good. Fit, good. While these boots are a little pricey, Amazon was the only place with the color I wanted and compared to most retailers the price was comparable. Hope this helps anyone considering purchasing these boots. Oh, also, they were overnighted which was awesome!

Really narrow in the toe box
UPDATE: After returning these boots, I ordered them directly from Frye (because I really like the look of them!) I received them today and I had to update my review. The boots sold on Amazon are definitely fake. As I said in my previous review, I would have kept them if they fit properly since the price was so good. But, please be warned that they are NOT real Frye boots. The pair I received today fit perfectly, the leather is soft and supple and they are branded with the Frye logo on the inside. The Amazon boots are really narrow in the toe box, the shaft is very stiff and there is no branding except on the sole (and the box). Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.I love the look of these boots. I have been searching for a great pair of biker/combat boots and these are perfect. The price was also amazing, considering the cheapest I could find them for anywhere else was $400.But.... I'm not saying they are fake, I just have a few concerns. Particularly with the fit. I own a pair of Frye shoes (purchased directly from Frye) and a pair of tall Frye boots (purchased from The Bay. Both fit perfectly. The ones I order through Amazon are really narrow in the toe box, but they slip in the heel. That was the first red flag. I compared them to my other Frye boots and these ones do not include any logos on the inside. Again, I'm not saying they're fake, but I am not 100% confident that they are authentic. All that being said, if they weren't so tight in the toe box I would absolutely keep them. Even if they are fake, they look good and the price is right. Unfortunately, they just don't work for me.

My First Fryes and I am SOOOOOO Thrilled With Them ! !
I'd heard of Frye boots and wanted a pair for quite awhile but as they're normally quite expensive and not readily available in the UK I hadn't yet got a pair, However, when browsing on here recently I was looking at the Frye shoes and boots and came across these at an unbelievably good price in my size so I HAD to buy them! I was so excited and couldn't wait to get them, When they arrived they were as impressive as I had hoped they'd be - they're packaged very nicely in a Frye box with details about the brand (the founder, ironically, was a BRITISH man, NOT an American!), how they're made, etc. I'd ordered a brown pair and the colour is EXACTLY as pictured on here - quite dark with a slight reddish tinge in parts. They're the classic biker boot style I've been craving for ages so am thrilled with the style, , they're incredibly sturdy (and the toe area in particular seems perhaps to be reinforced), the detailing is impressive and they're clearly not a cheap make! I was so impressed with them that I was soon looking at more Frye footwear on here and managed to snag two pairs of Kira Hi Top Studded Trainers on here, one pair in black and the other in beige, for about £25 a pair, even though the other sizes were £125+ ! ! I think I've now become a Frye addict ! !

Just like I remember a great pair of FRYE's to be!
Had a pair of FRYE cowboy boots when i was a teen and wore them to the ground. Needless to say, I've been looking for years to get a new pair but the prices are ridiculous! Couldn't believe my luck when I saw this pair on Amazon for an incredible price and miraculously, one pair left in my size (8). After reading reviews, I was scared the size 8 would be too tight because I usually take an 8 but sometimes a boot will be too tight to pull on at the top of the foot. I nervously put on a pair of socks and went to pull them on. Lo and behold, they fit perfectly! Even a wee bit room around the top of the foot, which is fabulous because when it gets cold, I'll have no issues wearing a thicker sock. The craftsmanship of the leather and attention to detail is exactly what I remembered from FRYE's and was hoping to see and feel. It's almost 38 Celsius (100 Fahrenheit for you Americans) in Toronto but here I am, walking around my neighbourhood in a pair of shorts and my FRYE's

Great boot!
Love the look. Great quality. My only issue is they are quite narrow and I don’t have wide feet. I’ve been trying to break them in and stretch them out but after along day it’s a little painful. Short wear so far they are great and I’m sure once they are stretched it’ll be perfect.

So Sad! :(
I wanted to SO love these boots. The quality is great. The color is great. The issue is the fit. This is my first pair of FRYE boots and I really wanted them to be perfect. My foot fits an 8.5 in any other shoe or boot except these. The toe box is very narrow which makes it hard to slip my foot in (and I have a slim foot) however the heel slips so I am confused. Maybe it's this specific pair of boots. I guess that's the downfall of purchasing on-line. Will return as I can't justify keeping them with the ill fit. So sad as they do look nice.
