If they didn’t didn't have such a great smell of fine leather I would have thought them to be patent leather not real. It’s safe to say I’m more than satisfied with my boots. I have had my pair for several years now. Break in period was fast and now they feel very comfortable on my feet. I can not comment on how you would feel if you wore them all day long, as the maximum amount of time in one day that I have worn them is only a couple of hours. But for that long the boots are great and don't hurt my feet at all. The craftsmanship and the quality of the leather is top notch, in my opinion. Leather is soft and shiny. The sole is strong and secure. The boot has a good arch support. Again, I am not military, not a camper. I don't spend all day wearing these boots. One of the main reasons I bought them is the look. They really do look nice, especially if you take good care of them, clean and polish the leather, etc. The fit is as expected. I would definitely recommend these boots. But then again, your experience, depending on your needs, may vary.
