Review: Great For Making Art Prints - I am a stay-at-home mom who loves to paint and I’ve recently decided to have a go at selling my art prints! Over Christmas, I treated myself to an Epson 8550 EcoTank printer along with this Epson Premium Presentation Double Sided MATTE Paper. The paper I purchased is in a pack of 50 sheets that are 8.5” x 11”. So far it has been working out wonderfully. I’ve been printing 8” x 10” on the paper so that I can also offer 8” x 10” Matting, but they also look great printed with no border. I’ve had no issues with smearing/smudging while printing borderless on the paper. The matting I’m using was also purchased on desertcart. I am extremely happy with the quality of the Epson paper and don’t think I will ever change! I’ve also heard that it’s best to pair Epson papers with Epson printers. My printer has a preset setting for Presentation Matte Paper so I just go with that every time and the colors come out vibrant and accurate to the original paintings. The paper is smooth, but sturdy. I’ve noticed a slight curl in some of my prints, but it’s no problem once they’re popped in a frame or between matting. Overall I love this paper and I’m excited to try out larger sizes! There are a few things that I have learned along the way when trying to create art prints at home. At first, my prints kept coming out much darker than the original painting and I hope these suggestions can help out fellow artists who have been running in to the same problem. • Take your photo of painting in INDIRECT but bright sunlight (this helps capture the colors better) • You will always have to edit your photo in some way prior to printing • While editing your photos, do it in a dim lit room with your computer monitor brightness at about 20-25% max • This step is crucial- Make sure your printer setting is set up to match the same paper. Ex, with Presentation Paper Matte, select matte setting. • I have found printing in AdobeRGb to work the best Review: Nice weight, and clean printing with good colors - I am Impressed. Very good paper at this price. The two-sided prints are quite good. Like the matte finish. ## Features - Perfect for non-glare photographs, craft projects and signage. - Resists fading up to 72 years. - Guaranteed to work with all inkjet printers. - Instant drying capability with Epson Professional Inks allows for easy handling. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B001443Q2A | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,444 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #9 in Photo Quality Paper | | Brand | Epson | | Brand Name | Epson | | Brightness | 97 nits | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 4,129 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00010343866430, 00103438664308, 20010343866434 | | Included Components | Inkjet Photo Quality Paper, Photo Paper (Paper) | | Item Dimensions L x W | 11"L x 8.5"W | | Item Weight | 2.3 pounds | | Manufacturer | EPSON AMERICA, INC. | | Material Features | Biodegradable | | Paper Finish | Matte | | Paper Size | 8.5-x-11-inch | | Paper Weight | 44 | | Sheet Count | 100 | | Sheet Size | 8.5-x-11-inch | | UPC | 854432528720 010343866430 103438664308 798804756079 | | Unit Count | 100 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Epson - **Color:** Black - **Item Weight:** 2.3 pounds - **Paper Finish:** Matte - **Sheet Size:** 8.5-x-11-inch ## Images ![Epson Premium Presentation Paper MATTE (8.5x11 Inches, 100 Sheets) (S042180),Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81H5cjrM56L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Why does this say the color is black? Am I missing something here? Thanks in advance.** A: I believe it means the packaging. I really don't know, but the paper is bright white. **Q: Anyone use this paper in a Canon Pixima printer with good results for photos? What settings did you use?** A: The Canon Pixma printers are built to be considered an extremely sensitive printer. I personally have the Pro9500. The quality of the pictures are superb, even when using the less expensive Canon paper. However, saying that, when I run my cleaning process once a week, I use standard Costco printer paper, which is typically 20lb test. Long story short, I learned the hard way that when I mixed other vender's paper for higher than norm expected results, the quality diminished greatly; not to mention the short lived life of my printer/s. I would recommend using paper that the vender suggests because it is true, the printer prints with better quality and seems to last longer. For myself, I use Epson Matted Heavyweight paper (44/45lb) in my HP LaserJet Pro 450 for DVD and CD case covers and the results are very good. So there are some vender products that can cross products, but for Canon, I would use only what is suggested for best results. Good luck and have fun with your trail and error experiences. **Q: could i use this to print invitations? is it heavy enough?** A: I use it for invitations a lot and it works well, yes. You just always want to be sure and use the bright white side of the paper, not the duller side. **Q: Is this double sided paper or single sided?** A: Look carefully at the description - I've discovered that if you order 50 pages, you'll receive the double-sided. If you order the 100 page quantity, the description changes, and you'll get single sided paper - hence the discrepancies in the reviews. I'm sending back my 100 pages, even through I used 3 pages in this discovery. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great For Making Art Prints *by N***E on January 15, 2025* I am a stay-at-home mom who loves to paint and I’ve recently decided to have a go at selling my art prints!
