You can also remove the foam out of its carrier if you need to. **Q: Do the slots hold rings tightly?** A: The ring holder is like a sponge with slits cut in it, like in jewelers' ring boxes. It holds lighter rings tightly, but a few of mine are massive and extremely heavy, and those can move around. I’m still waiting for the chemical odor to finish off-gassing so I can use it safely. My last few “pleather” jewelry boxes fell apart after a few years when the glue began to react with the “pleather” ingredients. I’m assuming this one will last longer because it doesn’t have those issues. I like the way this is made. The foam insert is completely separate from the case, so it can be easily removed. The case can be cleaned as necessary without damaging the foam or having to find alternate storage for your rings. It’s brilliant. I’m hoping all my rings will fit. I recently gave most of them away as an early inheritance so that they can be enjoyed instead of being stuck in storage. I kept the ones I still wear and it will be nice to have them in a lightweight container with a zipper and handle. When the snap on those crummy “pleather” and cardboard types breaks away, everything goes everywhere and gemstones can get damaged if they hit a hard surface. That’s a real drag when that happens because some gemstones can’t be easily replaced. It’s nice that the company provides color choices. If a person needs separate ones for gold and silver, they can choose different colors for easy identification. I’m really happy that I found this style.
