It reads the small XD cards as well. Nice form factor, small but easy to use, is plug and play and worked on my old collection of Smartmedia cards without a hitch. It was nice to be able to recover digital photos taken 14 years ago. Review: Saved my old digital camera - This little unit works like a charm. It allows me to use my old cameras video card on my windows 10 pc which I could not do with the camera via cable connection since win 10 was not compatible with my old toshiba camera. Also I was able to use the smartMedia card with the reader to print photos at the drug store. The new drug store photo units would not accept the SmartMedia card. But with the reader I was able to use the USB port and have my photos printed. Poorly designed, regularly undocks its self due to USB placement, the weight of the reader pulls on the USB just enough to disconnect. I've got to hold it in place when making data transfers.
