just lovely stuff!
this is the first time I have gone ahead and UPGRADED my watercolor experience and bought some actual high grade paper... I had never even used a block" b4 and when it finally dawned on me what that meant, I was sort of DUH.... (it was a VERY duh moment) like maybe my whole watercolor LIFE would change dramatically if the paper wasn't curling and such all over the place... some things take a while I guess... lolanyway this is a REALLY nice block and the paper is B E A U T I F U L I am thrilled.truly, thrilled with it.

I've been trying to use this for my watercolors.
I was looking for an alternative, less expensive cotton paper. I usually use Arches 140lb cold pressed, which can be quite pricey. I have started over 3 times on my first painting on the Canson Moulin DuRoy. It doesn't let you lift very well without fraying the paper, and doesn't receive the pigments like Arches. Maybe if you are a beginner it would be okay.

Moulin du Roy worth the search to order
Moulin du Roy Hot Press has a butter smooth surface which takes Watercolor paint nicely. Keeps the colors bright. Not easily available in 300 lb. weight. Block of 140 lb paper is very good.

Beautiful rough texture. Accepts multiple layers of wash. Tolerates lifting well.
The BEST watercolor paper Iβve ever found. Glad I could find a few more since theyβve been discontinued.

For me, it's the best!
Beautiful quality paper with an almost smooth surface. I use it for inking and it behaves impeccably.I do use a light box too and the image comes through nicely showing even, high quality fibres. Well worth the money.

Not very good quality
At over a pound a sheet, I thought this would be better quality than it is. Removing masking fluid is an issue, it damages the paper. same with using a kneaded eraser. The entire block is warped, so that the water runs in a particular direction.
