Ascension: Year Two Collector’s Edition Game

If you're like me and started playing Ascension late, this is a must buy as its discounted price makes this CE version cheaper than buying all the Year 2 sets separately and then chasing all the promos. Plus you get a unique playing board, card box and everything is foiled!The only downside appears to be the tin CE box they come in. I bought the Year 1 and Year 2 on discount from Amazon and each had a small dent. See pic #1...it is small, but there. If you're a staunch collector then you may be let down by the box. If you just want the foiled cards, I think it's totally worth it.

Just got my year two today and I was just as pleased with everything as I was with year one until I put them together. The cards in year two are ever so slightly larger than year one. Terrible miss on that one which really effects gameplay in my opinion. It may seem miniscule to some, but when you are shuffling a deck with some of the smaller cards on top of one or two larger ones those smaller cards tend to not get shuffled in. More often than not my thumb just skips to the next large card in the stack leaving any small cards in between completely un-shuffled. Would be an easy 5 star had the cards been the same size as year one. I would definitely reconsider if you are planning on using this interchangeably with year one cards.

Year two is my favorite for Ascension. I've found that it feels extremely balanced and less random than other sets. The better player often wins this one. I especially love trophy monsters, events, and fanatics.This collectors edition is beautiful and I highly recommend double sleeving the cards.

The metal box was dented but the cards were in good shape, that's the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars. I enjoy playing the game a lot.

Absolutely love this set. I just got into the Ascension game. I purchased the regular game and then I got this. The cards look amazing and I definitely want to get card sleeves for this. I will also be buying year 1 and year 3.

This pack comes with a great set. If you're new to Ascension, I would recommend getting the Year One Edition, as it is much simpler. This year Two Edition adds several mechanics that complicate the game and might confuse newer players. To the initiated, however, this is the way to go!

I recently bought this after years of playing the Ascension card game. The box is nicely design with a box in the middle to contain the cards. The set presented here are from the year 2 collection. This is the game to get.

Everything about this is gorgeous and high quality. The tin includes a deck box that has foam spacers. The deck box fits the full set sleeved in premium sleeves and the victory point counters. It is very well thought and beautiful.
