Bad product design
Just installed and have not used yet BUT there’s a major design flaw. You basically see the wire (and hole in the wall) once installed. All the fancy product shots don’t show you what it looks from above. See for yourself. Called the company and the lady on the phone said she’s aware and went on to say “I raised the issue five years ago, but they haven’t changed the product design”. Don’t buy.

Hard wired and installed the unit as per manufactures instructions ...
Hard wired and installed the unit as per manufactures instructions, unit failed first time it was energized, have contacted both Amazon and Stiebel Eltron (sent email to Stiebel) will see how well they handle the warranty claim, not condemning the unit as early mortality failures do occur, just frustrated, German engineering/quality did not live up to expectations on this unit.Stiebel Eltron emailed me back within 24 hours, the lady was very accommodating, once I supplied the serial number and other pertinent failure information Stiebel processed a replacement unit for shipping asap.Very very pleased with Stiebel Eltron's service, and how they handled the situation.

Great for most needs, a little loud for a sleeping area
I'd almost give it five stars. It works well, was easy to install, and does a good job at keeping my son's basement room warm.My only complaint is that it is a little louder than I'd hoped. Loud enough that it is hard to fall asleep with it on in the same room. It isn't really load, much nicer than some cheaper fan heaters, and perfectly fine for working, homework, or reading. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I'd hoped for something even quieter. For next winter I may move to the hall outside the bedroom. It generates enough heat and that should be far enough away that it won't be too loud.So overall I recommend it, just think about placement if you plan to sleep nearby.

Very Impressed
I chose this product because of its low profile, hard-wiring and German manufacturing. After installation, we were pleasantly surprised at the immediate heat emitted. We use it in a sunroom to melt the ice and snow off the clear roof. It has been recently installed so we don’t know how it will fair in the longrun but we are very pleased to date.

You have to open and connect wire to the plug ...
You have to open and connect wire to the plug and wiring are not included, also it has a very weak fan. However it will do the job in your small one garage door workshop. Don't expect too much from a 110V heater. If you want a power and worry free heater go for anything that works on 220V .
