Product Description Punch and beauty The Edifier T5 is a beefy and weighty subwoofer, weighing 14kg and measuring 25cm deep, 28cm wide and 30cm high. The Edifier T5 dial knobs are made of metal alloy and are driver by potentiometers with stop points that provide gradual adjustments with good resistance as you turn the knobs. It uses an 8 inch subwoofer driver enclosed inside an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) housing with a wood veneer finish. MDF is a composite of real wood fibers and dense resin and, it's particularly popular for making speaker cabinet enclosures because MDF is strong and dampens vibrations much better than wood could. Lower Cabinet Resonance Reduced acoustic resonance with MDF enclosure Edifier applies high-quality, medium-density fibreboard (MDF) materials that offer reduced cabinet resonance for the cleanest sound around. Not all subwoofers have a low pass filter (LPF) crossover and the ones that do have a low pass filter crossover may not be properly implemented to stop vocals coming through the subwoofer. The Edifier T5 has a properly implemented low pass filter crossover built-in, which you can set to 38 Hz (lowest setting) to stop almost entirely vocal output from coming through the subwoofer. Connectivity with oomph! Being a powered subwoofer, the Edifier T5 connects just like a regular loudspeaker and, it's powered using mains electricity via the included figure 8 power cord, which measures 1.7 meters long. The Edifier T5 also comes with two sets of cables - a 1.4 meter long RCA to 3.5cm male cable and a 1.6 meter long RCA to RCA audio cable. While the Edifier T5 is plug and play, it needs setting up just like all subwoofers and that means finding the right placement, phase timing and crossover. You may also need an external amplifier if your loudspeakers are passive (non-powered). A: Hello, Edifier is a Chinese Manufacture so these images are directly from their HQ. All of our speakers are the UK versions if they are different.

**Q: Are the package dimensions different to the actual sub dimensions... I need the actual dimensions of the sub please.**
A: Hi the dimensions are 278 x 300 x 336 mm (WxHxD), 11.5kg

**Q: I have a Edifierr1280dbs what are the best t5 subwoofer settings**
A: Check the phase is correct, if it is wrong then the sub-woofer will be time-matched with the other speakers and you'll get a reduction in bass due to noise cancelling. The best way to get this right is put on some music with some heavy bass, turn the frequency on the bass to cover as much bandwidth as possible and the volume at a reasonable level and then toggle the phase switch to see which phase produces the better bass volume. After that it is really down to taste - both your ears and the sort of music you listen to. I have the frequency open about 9/10 of full bandwidth. The volume is the next most important thing after the phase, it must be loud enough it complements any other sub-woofers and woofers you have, but not so loud the bass becomes omnidirectional. The main thing with a big bass like the T5 is that it gives exceptionally clear texture where lesser speakers just give noise
