If you are finding that the fluid level has been going down when you are not using it, make sure the o-rings are not damaged and ALL the caps are closed tightly but not too tight. Tightening them too much with something other than your hands could damage the o-rings. Also, do not store it in hot places as the fluid can evaporate and create internal pressure which might lead to loss of fluid, I'm guessing. I keep my canister filled to the brim. I just returned from a 2 month trip and wanted to check if the canister had leaked at all. I did not take my zippo or the canister with me on the trip and it was still full to the brim while the zippo was nearly bone dry.
