I was able to quickly add I2S support, hooking up the MakerHawk MAX98357 to the Teensy's I2S pins, and to an Adafruit breadboard speaker. It played well. Review: This DAC was a cheap and brilliant way to improve the audio quality of my esp32 project. It turned awful sound quality with horrible background noise to incredibly clear and enjoyable sound. Whereas audio is fed via usb and out to mpio pins as i2s signal. I don’t know if the pico can act as i2s master which this part needs.
