The nut the clearly illustrated in the guide and was necessary to keep the degree guide locked. Without it, I wouldn't be able to cut at an angle properly. I had to go out and buy one, but the screw is an usual size; I had to have a worker at the store help me find a nut that would work and it took him quite a while. Since it was such an odd size, I had to buy a pack of them. It only put them out $2 plus the drive and my time, but I was still miffed. The nut I bought fits but it doesn't work perfectly; I have to fiddle with it to keep the guide from sliding around. Ultimately I'm disappointed with the quality. It feels cheaper than I was expecting. Update: The seller reached out to me and offered me a $6 refund to cover the missing part.
