They are the same product with the same part number. They are both NLGI #2 rated grease. The only difference is the packaging. The "#2" packaging is the most recent. This information came directly from Lucas. I called them. **Q: Would this grease be a good firearm lube?** A: In my opinion, no. It would be too thick and stiff for a firearm lube. It will not migrate into the tight places like an oil lube will. **Q: Would this be good inside a transaxle on a riding mower?** A: Hmmm....once away from small bearing and small electric motors....not so sure. Transaxles are usually oil filled. If you're trying to replace the oil with grease..NO.
