**Q: Will these work for Phosguard?**
A: They are very fine mesh to hold in the finest media particles. But water flows through them easily so I don't see a problem with them working with any media. So I'll say "Yes" they will work with Phosguard.

**Q: Would this work as a filter guard for an internal filter in a freshwater aquarium?**
A: If the internal filter can fit into the bag, I think it's a good idea!   You can search on amazon:" Alegi fine bags" for different sizes!

**Q: Are the zippers made of metal or plastic?**
A: This is drawstring bags. It doesn't contain any metal. is completely safe for both fresh and saltwater aquariums.

**Q: I have a cascade 1500 filter from penn and plax can I put 3 purigen bags in 3 of my trays amd what size bad should I use for a 55 gallon tank?**
A: A basic purigen bag will treat up to 100 gallons for 6 months or so with proper regeneration. I use a 250ml bottle of purigen in one of the alegi media bags and have it in a wet/dry for a 90g tank. You won't need 3 for a 55. One will do fine.

Many reviews are for the smaller size so i thought I’d review the larger size. These are bigger than I needed, but the smaller size was too small. It’s OK, I will make it work. They don’t have a clasp for the drawstring, so you will need to wrap it around after pulling the drawstring or find another way to keep it closed. The sewing seems good, and the size of the mesh is good for what i need for my aquarium. These are flat bags, like an envelope, so they crinkle up a bit at the bottom when you wrap around the filter or pump (whatever you are using this for)- so its more like a sock, not like a freezer bag that you can stand up to fill. Thats fine, it’s just like the item description. I think these will hold up to multiple cleanings and wear and tear so I'm happy with the quality and price point.
