Fallkniven A1pro Plain Edge Fixed Blade Knife- The Very Best For Survival And Bushcraft
I was concerned about the cost of this Very Fine Blade, it is WELL WORTH the extra $$, the COS Laminated steel is superior to the VG-10 in it's edge retaining ability (I own 4 Fallkniven knives with the Cobalt center steel, the S1Pro, The "PUK folder" , The Volcano (V1) and now the A-1 Pro) I still love my original A-1 but the redesign of the Pro is much better all around, the forward balance of weight in the blade is much easier for controlling this Very sharp blade, the guard is superior for protection of my hand, the extra thickness is better for myself in the strength and weight (check out the stress tests performed by an Independent testing Laboratory) Fallkniven contracted for Unbiased testing (I noticed that the Cobalt center seems to be thicker , but I haven't used a micrometer yet) The handle material is stiffer and feels better to control- As the description states that to improve an already "1st class" style of Survival Knife, makes it worthy of the title "Professional"- in my ramblings on our family ranch in extreme N.E.Wyoming's Black Hills, I feel better prepared for any situation that may arise (I still can't bring myself to go trapezing across 1,000 acres with the "Art Work" of my Volcano and chance to damage the Cocobolo wood handle )- I do wish the A-1 Pro came with a leather sheath like my Volcano- I will stitch up one from some top grade leather from my Amish saddle maker neighbor - That is my only complaint, but I can see the reason for a waterproof sheath in different places of the Globe. I said in an earlier review of my Volcano "You descendants of Viking Norsemen, Do the Memory of your Ancestors Great Honor in keeping to the realization that "Survival"-First and Foremost - depends on a fine cutting tool, Thanks Amazon for once again providing the ability to buy "Heirloom Quality" products for use in my "Backwoods" from a Company that still adheres to "Quality and Customer Satisfaction"- a trait that is slowly being replaced with "Greed" -Thanks to everyone who gives detailed Reviews so we know what to expect

Wow! Is this a beautiful knife. 1/4 inch thick spine so it was born for batoning. I just received it and haven't used it yet so there might be an edit to this review some time later. So why 4 stars instead of 5? I noticed a slight machine flaw "burr" but you can only barely notice it when the light reflects at a very specific angle ... and I'm a perfectionist so take that into consideration. After buying some of the more expensive knives to add to my collection, ie. Microtech,WeKnife,Zero Tolerance, Boker tree series, ect. I've become more concerned with getting scammed and buying fakes on amazon. I did my homework on the A1 pro that I received from this seller and I confirm it genuine. No fake extra bevel near edge "genuine scandi grind".. sheath belt loop is attached to the outside of the sheath and not the inside. "A1 pro Fallkniven Lam.Co8" is clearly etched on the blade and no messy defects on the handle.

Chippy knife, bad customer service.
Knife chipped badly after a minor drop on the ground & Fallkniven said my warranty wouldn't be honored because I "went cheap" by buying on here. Honestly the worst customer service interaction I've ever had in my life. Definitely surprised by how fragile the knife was, as well. Buyer beware!

Purpose driven beauty
Very well balanced knife. Not a showy knife but very purpose driven. The case I don't really care about because the knife should be out and being used. Nice that it comes with a field sharpener. Knife was razor sharp out of the box. Just did some fine stropping to get the sharpness to my hair popping liking. Definitely worth the extra $ put into it. You are paying for quality and you will definitely feel it when using this knife.Don't care for the sheath and no aftermarket sheaths available without going custom made. The problem with this sheath is that it only gas one tab on the side to hold the knife in. Wouldn't trust that it holds the knife without using the snap as a secondary backup.

Not quite as advertised
The knife is amazing! The sheath, meh. Did not come with hard protective case or the whetstone with leather pouch as it is advertised in the pictures as well as the description.

God made this knife
Wow. If you can swing the cost, this is no doubt the highest quality non-custom knife I've ever touched. With its rolled or convex edge, it glides through anything. It came so sharp it was scary. It's built so sturdy I don't think you could break it. However, the sheath sucks, not because it's poor quality but because for the cost, it's too "affordable" for such a high quality item. I replaced it with a Patriot Leather custom sheath with a fire steel and utility pouch.

Heirloom Piece
I really like this knife. Absolutely the best survival knife I ever owned! Ruggedly made, to do most any job, chopping, cutting, digging, whatever. Crazy sharp, comfortable in the hand, allegedly the best steel made, I like this purchase. It comes with sharpening stone , a sheath in presentation case. I immediately purchased a leather sheath from Leonard’s leatherworks making this and outstanding, but rather expensive one time heritage item!Dave Burt

It was a forgery.
It wasn't an actual Falkniven. It was a cheap Chinese forgery, it didn't even have a convex edge (of course).
