Most likely the shops were not cleaning up the guide pins. For this type of damage I did use a scotch bright kitchen sponge with the lightest touch. You can’t “spray” your way back from this my friends BUT look at that 4-lug 17” wheel. It looks brand new (almost) I ran out of spray but it almost completed the job.
