Q: can i use this on a small dog? i have a mini poodle... and this is the electroinc nail clipper with a better review than others.....

I bought it to use on small/mid size dogs (Westie, Cairn) so it should work on a smaller dog. however, I have mixed reviews about this item. It has been very temperamental for me and despite turning power off, when I go to use it again, the batteries are always dead... and it's difficult to turn on too... perhaps I have a defective one, but it's a lot of money to spend if it is not going to work properly. I would suggest just having your groomer clip the nails when you get that done. I think it will be cheaper in the long run and will save you the stress.

Q: I'm guessing this works best with large breeds. No worries, I have a Saint Bernard. Does the package come with that cute saint photo?

We have a Great Dane, it didn't work well for him. It fit around his nail, but it wouldn't locate the quick, which was the only reason we purchased it.

Q: Does this work for left handed and right handed people ?

It may not work too well for left handed people.

Q: Can i use this for a 7month old cat? If not do they make a cat one?

I’m sure you can. It detects the quick by the heat of it. I put it around my pinky and it does the same thing. It is telling you where the heat of the quick is then you can back off until the light turns green and be safe clipping. That would be on dogs or cats - no matter the age.
