Good!
This is pretty good. For Ranger tripod that has the 1/4-20 under in the center! I don't know why they put a rubber washer on this. I think this is why everyone complains that this gets lost and loose. I removed my washer and installed with Loc-Tite to prevent mine from falling out.

Look at your tripod first!
I looked up reviews on this little hook an I was shocked at how many people ordered this for the wrong tripod. It’s for the ranger series without a center column that doesn’t have a leveling head or bowl.

Perfect. Does the job.
Handy little addition to a Leofoto tripod.

Temporarily great, then falls out
Assuming this is the right size weight hook for your tripod (sounds like a few people got it thinking it was when it wasn't), it works great. Once attached, I've used it to suspend ballast up to maybe 5-8 lbs. without any problems. The black hook at the bottom can be adjusted to either fold out at 90 degrees to hold a weight, or it can be 'collapsed' and pointed downward to the ground to ensure it doesn't get in the way of the tripod's legs.HOWEVER, I'm now on my THIRD weight hook in about two years. No matter what I do, even with occasional tightening, it slowly manages to loosen up over time, and keeps falling out without me noticing. I've got two Leofoto tripods, and this is an issue with both of them. At this point, I'm going to try either taping or gluing the next one in place.
