I can finally get back to work at my desk - I'm suffering from a lower lumbar injury and have been experiencing chronic pain for 10 months and it has gotten to a point that it's close to unbearable. I lose at least 3 hrs of sleep per night rolling around trying to get out of pain. I'm on a deadline to complete a work project and I've hardly been able to work at my desk. When this product arrived, I had been sitting at my desk for at least 6hrs straight and was coming into a lot of pain. I could hardly hold myself up. I unwrapped it immediately and put it on my chair, so easy and seems like it would fit any chair. Sat down and WOW! What a difference! The way that it aligned my posture and brought me into a position that is comfortable for working. None of the other similar products had an upper back cushion as well or the top strap to hold her up.. This is really helping to get my shoulders back. The cushion is such a nice spoungyness to lean back on and this completely rearranged my posture. You can adjust it higher or lower for your needs and no need to readjust it constantly from slipping around because the strap goes over the top as well as around the back and holds it in place. This product is well made, looks visually pleasing, seems it might be washable as it has some zippers on the cushions, is very functional and so I will also say that it's a good price for an item that's gonna save my back and help me get back to work so I'm not out of house and home soon. Will it also work on a larger high backed office chair?** A: I’ve tried it on huge chairs on several different size chairs. Completely adjustable to fit the chair and where it needs to fall on you. **Q: What is the cover made of and is there any smell?** A: The cover is a nylon material that is stretchy. That padding feels like there's gel inside. Smell. Nothing gross. Does have a slight silicon smell (I assume from the gel inside of it). Been in our SUV for months now.... no weird smells or fading. Wife loves it. **Q: how deep is it** A: There are 4 separate 'pillows': the top triangular, a rectanglar one below, and a somewhat oval pillow on either side of the rectangle.Each is 2" deep. If your seat it deep and you are short, you will not find the Fellowes shortens the depth, however, since this was the predicament I was in, I placed a small foam pillow behind the Fellowes and it now 'sticks' out enough for me to provide support. **Q: would it work for airplane seats, like if the straps weren't used?** A: Hi Jean! This back support would not work for airplane seats. The straps help stabilize the support in place especially since it's a 3-prong cushion. Good luck! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very good lower back support *by F***S on 25 November 2011* I have an Aeron chair, which still doesn't give me very good lower back support (never mind the sales pitch I got that they said it would) and after sitting for a few hours my lower back starts to feel it. I had previously purchased the mesh back type support, which was ok (and very cheap) but when the elastic gave out on the part which holds the support to the chair I thought I'd risk trying this padded version. I only got it as there was a second hand one (as new) for sale at half the price of a new one. The full asking price is very high to take a punt on. Anyway, I am very glad I did purchase it. I find it more comfortable than the mesh type support. The straps holding the pads to the chair are a lot better than a piece of elastic (so they should be for the price) and should be long enough and adjustable enough for any office chair.
