Excellent. Brilliant writing, brilliant cast, true to the diaries. Loved it. A period piece that feels modern in many ways. The response to this all over the world prompted a season 2 - which was just as good and am waiting to buy that on DVD! Hoping for a season 3! A must watch if you're a history fan.

Great book! I'm not a native english, but I have to admit that everything is explained in a simple e modern language.It's cool even to learn new words (actually old language).Anne Lister & Ann Walker's life was amazing, even though full of obstacles and everyday life, like ours. But they did it in 1800!It's beautiful and interesting! I recommend it!
