Flexible and Easy to Install
I purchased these to install under a homemade cabinet. These have only been used indoors so I cannot speak to their IP rating or their UV resistance as others have noted there may be concerns in those areas. For my application, they work perfectly. They were easy to install and soldering wire connections to a switch and 9V battery was simple. The adhesive was a bit lacking when applied to the pine cabinet surface, but I did not intend to use the adhesive alone and used mounting staples to keep them in place. If you are relying on the adhesive alone to hold these you may run into some frustration unless you have a smooth surface and install them on long straight runs. For my application this was not an issue, since I was using mechanical fasteners. Brightness running off a 9V battery was exactly what I was looking for - not bright enough to add accent in full sunlight or a brightly lit room, but for little to no ambient light (which is what my application is) they are perfect.

Affordable, sturdy, bright light strip
I prepped the metal surface on our camper with alcohol, let dry 24 hours. Then I applied 3M VHB double sided tape, let cure 48 hours; also used a roller to smooth out any bubbles. Then we applied the light strip after removing the backing and rolled it with a roller. Good adhesion everywhere but right at the connector end where the wires attach. It is suprisingly bright at night. I imagine that the strip adhesive on its own is not enough to support the strip against gravity.

Great Little Lights, These Blue Ones Had Poor Adhesion
So I recently purchased a roll of these LEDs, as well as the Cool White 12V version. My project was to wire my new Matco Service Cart with blue LEDs underneath and white LEDs under the lid, wired to a magnetic switch on the N/O circuit. You open the lid, the magnets come apart, circuit closes, and the lights turn on. Close the lid, bye bye lights. Got all the wiring cut and crimped and tucked away nice and neat, and then attached the LEDs to their positions after wiping the surfaces down with mild soap, then water, then dry wipe. Whites have been up inside the lid since I put them there, not a single issue, but the blue... Well, they were all over the floor the morning after first install. I ran over half the strip with my cart's wheel before I noticed, destroying a large portion of them. Cut a new line from the remainder of the roll, and encountered the same thing later in the day... blue LEDs drooping and coming off the cart. I'll probably order another roll and just see if I got some poor glue in a batch, or what the case may be. Aside from that issue, the lights seem real sturdy, plenty flexible, certainly bright enough and they throw a nice indirect glow. Wiring them into their little connectors is troublesome, so I ended up soldering leads together when I had to, simpler that way for me. All in all, I'd recommend 'em if you're looking for some kind of lighty project.

Good for camper, adhesive needed!
The factory adhesive was worthless for my application.. I just used some clear silicone caulk to "glue" the light strip to my camper (the tape in the pictures to hold in place until silicone cured". Note: you will likely need to hardwire to a 12v source or purchase an adapter separately. I purchased the warm white color. The lights are bright and perfect for what I wanted and the price was great.

Landscape lighting
This product is inexpensive but worth the cost. The adhesion tape is not the best however if mounting on the underside of a wood deck railing or stair nose a low powered mechanical staple gun using t-50 staples spans the lights perfectly. (5/16 staples every 12" finished with a small tack hammer) I installed these lights and hardwired directly into the 12volt landscape transformer so they come on with the other lighting. This was an experimental purchase that just worked out so I purchased more. They provide couplers for longer runs without noticeable spaces. It is best to clean the mounting area with rubbing alcohol, make sure surface is dry.

Do NOT recommend!
Do NOT recommend! The adhesive is useless. Clearly the same adhesive for standard strip lights was used, not accounting for the added weight of the waterproof feature. After I installed them, half of the lights did not work (they all lit when I tested them out of the package), and I did not pinch or bend any of the strip. They were falling off in less than 24 hours. VERY disappointed and frustrated. Already ordered something else. These are junk.

Good price, but definitely not 2700K warm-white. Quick-fix to dim harsh LEDs for cabinet lighting
These are a very good deal, and I was able to connect them to 12V 1-amp converter (for 120V) that I had around the house. Unfortunately they are not the warm white 2700K advertised, and I would guess they are somewhere in the mid-3500K (cool white) range. They are quite bright for LEDs which will be useful for some applications, but in my case - for hidden cabinet lighting - they are a bit too bright given that they are cool white and not warm white. They installed easily, and it was simple to cut them to length. The adhesive backing works reasonably well, although it actually was peeling away from the light strip in some places even as I applied it.UPDATED: I figured out a quick-fix for overly bright cool-white light strips like these. Get some yellow-ochre oil paint. It takes about 5 minutes to dap a bit on each LED for the entire strip, and for under cabinet lighting (hidden) it works very well. I am attaching a "before and after" for just one bay of a cabinet where we wanted warm-white lighting, and the light from these cool-white LED strips was too harsh. In some cases we decided we needed a second coat, so don't worry about blocking the light - the paint can be wiped off or added to get the right tone.
