They held a 1.5" x 2.5" frame together with ease for my pre-drilling and nailing (I'm not buying a nail gun!). My concern is they would be flimsy but the threaded components are quite sturdy. With the number of these that i own, i should invest in the company :) I use these for assembling cabinets/book shelves as they make life so much easier. I would not be rough with these, i.e. trying to force a shape after they are tightened or overtightening them.
