The VCR is not able to advance the cleaning tape. There is something “different” about the tape compared to a normal VHS tape. The VCR works great otherwise. And I have several machines. It turned them all off without cleaning. I also could not FF or Rewind. Total junk. **Q: where do you put the drops** A: Most wet systems have a hole where you apply the cleaning solution. I didn't see one here but my past experience tells me that you can do as well just applying to the exposed (you have to lift the front cover by pressing the small rectangular button) cleaning tape. Put the drops on the side with the largest reel of cleaning tape since about 8 inches of tape are pulled out when loading. Weird erratic science with the VCR player *by B***N on 5 December 2020* The product seemed to be credible when I was reading from other consumer's feedbacks which helped me able to discern to trust the company's product. So far the result is that it viably worked by following the instructions where you insert the head cleaner tape into the VCR console press play for 30 secs then ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND TO REWIND THE HEAD CLEANER TAPE AS SOON YOU'RE DONE WITH IT! This product claims to be used about 30 times before buying another replacement. It cleaned out the dust, debris, dirt, etc which is normal but I find within every month it needs maintenance to clean the VCR player to ensure it still works in good condition viably! After I followed the steps somehow the screen was still distorted the footage was shaking on the screen and the audio was erratically off the track, but then I gave it a light smacked all of a sudden the footage on the screen was restored! Weird & cryptic science... Somehow it worked just needed for the dust to be extracted.
