Merino wool is a near perfect material: breathable, keeps you cool in summer but also warm in cold weather, that is a particular quality of wool. Wool is also the only material I know of that will keep you warm while wet. Best thing about Merino wool is the odor resistance which makes this perfect for travel. I am an ultralight packer, will take long trips with only a tiny carry on, sometimes just a backpack. This requires handwashing. Merino can be worn several times, spotwashed as needed and hand washed maybe after 10 wears? Less washing also means these shirts last longer, making the higher price more palatable. Only reason for the 4 stars is this does run somewhat small, but I've found most merino wools do and I don't know why.

I have 2 of these and wear them a lot. Not itchy, great price. I weasr it as a base layer and by itself. My first one came from Costco -- an even better deal, but they don't have them any more. Another color would be nice.

GREAT product for a great price. I can't believe it is so much more inexpensive than the $75 ones I was looking at and it's basically the same product. Already washed and it still fits fine.
