Review: Crimper for ferrules, not connectors - I do like having 'the right tool for the job', but must admit this is a tool I never thought I needed, and could definitely do without... However I was having difficulty feeding bared electrical wires into a tight connector and made the plunge to buy this crimping set in the hope it would help. I am pleased to report it did, and it made me wonder why I hadn't bought one before. The crimper itself is a good size, well made, and strong enough to get good crimps. Be aware this is not a standard crimping tool for connectors, but creates crimped ferrules, which are easier to handle. The ferrules provided are of several different sizes, and would be sufficient for most DIY applications I would have thought. 5 stars.
Review: Great tool for a great price - I received this tool and am impressed with the quality. I needed it for terminating a room stat in my boiler as the terminals were fiddly and I wasn’t happy about the quality of the terminations I had made with the multi strand wires. I tried a test with a spare cable (1.0mm2) and both types of connection with the setting as supplied which was midpoint. First time use and it worked perfectly, it’s a really solid tool and am very impressed, especially with the ease of use and the comfortable handle. A dial would have been better to set the tension rather than removing a screw but no big deal. The fittings are everything I need and more and will be using whenever I use multi strand wires. It makes for a much better termination. I use just the bare type connectors when fitting more than 1 connector into a terminal and the coloured ones when just a single connector. I can’t see me running out of connectors as I only use it for diy jobs but it is the only kit I’ve seen that has bare connectors along with sheathed connectors. Very pleased with this set!

**Q: Do they have a 16 mm ferrule crimp? What is the largest size?**
A: The kit does not contain them but the largest one you can buy is for cables upto 150mm but you would have to get a crumpet that could do that

**Q: does it crimp down to 0.25mm for alarm cable**
A: Yes they are suitable for that kind of job.

**Q: I am used to the cheaper tools which have different holes for different size ferules. How is the tool adjusted for different size ferules?**
A: Hi there,  This one uses a self-centering chuck mechanism which closes on any size ferrule.  I found this one excellent and would not go back to the cheaper type, way better!

**Q: What voltage rated are the ferrules?**
A: Electricians use these to extend cables when upgrading mains boards ( consumer units ) so they will be rated at 240 volts .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clean terminal crimps

The beauty about this crimp set is it's versatility, with lots of different size ferrule's to choose from. The pliers are best set to their strongest setting prior to use, as I found them a little weak as the standard setting, but having said that, they do crimp the wires nice and tightly. If you are working on a cars wiring system, the smaller ferrule's are brilliant for keeping the cable ends clean and clamp down really well, ensuring a positive connection. I have recently rewired the kitchen and have replaced a few terminals with the new ferrules, giving electric current the best flow possible. The one caveat is to make sure you crimp the entire bare section, leaving only the insulation showing, this ensures that no naked wire can make contact causing a short. The pliers themselves are well made and very robust, and being adjustable gives one the chance to create a tighter crimp. Longevity wise I cannot see any problems as they are well put together and the material used for the crimping is very hard indeed. Overall, the pliers and ferrules supplied will provide tight, clean ends to any wires within the range specified by the product, and will give good service life. Highly recommended.
