DURA-LIFT Garage Door Double-T Rubber Weather Seal (for 16 Foot Wide Doors)

My old weather seal was very easy to remove. The new Dura Lift garage seal was very difficult to install. After installing it about 1/3 of the way, it was difficult to slide it in the sheet metal channel. I used dish soap to help lubricate the seal and channel (I've used this on other types of installations successfully), but this really did not help much. I also watched installation videos but most were done by professionals who do this for a living every day. End Result: Finally installed and seems to work fine.

This product is thicker, not as flimsy, than the products sold at our local "home" stores. I used WD-40 and a box cutter to remove the old weather seal. After thoroughly cleaning the aluminum tracks with soap and water, I lubricated the tracks and the Dura-Lift with a generous amount of "dawn" and water. I fed the seal into the tracks while my wife pulled it through. Slid in easily and smoothly. Product is around 17 feet and covered my 16 foot long garage door. I left about 3 inches extend on each end, which I folded into the weather seal. Seals the bottom of the garage door as advertised.

Works fine

Not hard to replace. The old one needed a heat gun to remove as it was old and brittle. New one slid in ok with a helper and some simple green as a lube. I set the garage door to not close as far so it would not be flattened like the old one. Set the closing distance not just the force I mean. Seems pretty thin in a good way so it will bend to accommodate and bumps etc. Just installed so don't know how long it will stay flexible but its giving me a warm feeling that its a good product. Highly recommend based on install and initial impression.
