We were awoken at about 1:30 AM with both alarms going off. The one in our bedroom read 463, and the downstairs unit read 268 and the numbers were still climbing (the readings should be ZERO). We immediately opened the windows and left the house with the dogs. We had our contractor look at the situation the next morning as he was here for another project we have going. The photo shows what he found. Had we not had the detectors, we likely would not be here. Turns out the problem likely occurred when some work was done on the boot around the outside vent pipe on the roof, and it loosened the connections to our boiler.
